Wonder Woman Official Trailer

Wow this looks rad. I expected good things from this movie, but this looks potentially really good.

Great trailer except for the slow mo. I hope it's just for the trailer.
I love slow motion. I need more 300 style ass kicking in my life. Haters of slow motion can take a seat.

Aight so from my knowledge of Wonder-Woman comics and BvS, Wonder-Woman is usually depicted as in the same tier as Superman in terms of strength, speed and toughness and BvS had her tag-teaming Doomsday with Superman so I'm kinda wondering how these action scenes are gonna play out because the trailer looks like the machine gun fire and mortars are actual threats to her so did she get stronger between this and BvS? Did she prove herself worthy of some godly upgrades in this movie? I don't know, trailer looks dope tho. I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

The director said he has less powers in WW and is still learning about her abilities, which means she won't display the same powers she had on BvS. She described the film as a "coming of age story" so WW and BvS Diana are probably very in very different positions.

I wonder if it's sorta like she doesn't know that she's tough enough to tank bullets so she uses her shield and she doesn't know that she's as fast or as strong as she actually is and subconsciously holds back and hits with the strength she expects she has or if she does some insane Demigod training in between movies.

It makes sense that she doesn't know the extent of her powers. Her life on the island training with the other Amazonians would only push her so far.

Ewww no. 300 style works due to the novelty of it. Now it's just lame.

Also...guess Steve is going to die in this and will be one of the reason for Diana to be on exile.

If Ares is the villain makes me wonder if he's behind WW1 and when Wondy sees that humanity does WW2 of their own accord she loses faith.

Trailer looked good.

It's the worst. The faster people move, the better the action. Slow motion is totally antithetical to good action. Trash trash trash, always has been, always will be.
You must hate comic books.

Slow motion can add a cool sense of tension and a heightened reality to action. Like any effect it can be used well or poorly. Movies like 300 and The Matrix get it right.

You're talking about slow motion like it's shaky cam or something, which is disruptive in almost all circumstances. Absurd.

I like when slow-mo is used to show that the characters reflexes are so fast that they practically experience time differently than normal people and I'm kinda hoping that's the case what with her fighting multiple people with guns and shit.

Yep, that's one of the ways slow motion can work for the movie and act as more than just visual flair.

How can you have slow motion in comic books?

I'm OK with slow motion outside of fight scenes, like in The Matrix where you wouldn't see Neo dodging bullets without it, but that scene in 300 is garbage. The slow motion takes something that could have been cool and makes it tedious; why do I want to see one single plain old sword slash in excruciating detail? I'd much rather see five or six full speed strikes than one slow boring one.

Good fight scenes are all about speed and creativity and thumpiness, bam bam bam, excitement for your eyeballs, holy shit I can't believe these people are moving so fast. Slow motion is a big greasy hand pulling the brake lever. "We interrupt your regularly scheduled enjoyment to force you to watch this dude deliver the world's slowest kick." Bonus points for when the slow-mo draws extra attention to an awkward wire-fu move like in this trailer.

It was all very Captain America: The First Avenger. Did she really fight in WWII? I don't know too much about the character's back story.

Each version of her origin (that I know of, anyway) usually has to do with her returning Steve Trevor to the world of man after he crash lands on Themyscira. The war bit is fungible, as is the era.

If you want to see a decent version of this story, you can see a modern day version in the underrated Wonder Woman animated film.

This is WWI, btw. Not WWII.

Typically Wonder Woman is WW2, they shifted it to WWI for a few reasons.
1. More unique making it a bit more interesting atm.
2. Changes it up from Captain America.
3. WWI is so often glanced over it makes it easier to have Wonder Woman as part of that war and being forgotten by history.

It's really weird, but I really don't like any of these DC films outside of Nolanverse. I think the... MoSverse(?) seems bland and it's a shame that a WW film is part of it.

I already want a sequel.

And hopefully we'll have more female directors on these big projects.

Looks interesting enough. I hope these actions scenes only have the stupid crouching tiger, wire work look for the trailer though.

The universe now seems bland? This universe can hold all sorts of beings. The nolanverse was way too grounded. It could not have Superman exist, nor wonder woman (and you can forget about those like Aquaman and the flash too), and the Batman related characters that they did have such as Ra's Al ghul were neutered. It also wouldn't be able to hold other characters that Batman knows such as Clayface and poison ivy, etc.

between this & JL it looks like DC is finally taking notes from Marvel after BvS bombed so bad

this looks pretty damn fun

As much as I like the WW theme, Supes still has the best one (Zimmer version of course). Hope we'll hear it in JL.

If that fucking song isn't playing at some point during JL I may actually break. It's such a great theme and its only use so far was in the MoS credits.

.........i .....can sort of see where you come from but WW theme > Supes theme....................................MARGINALLY

i love them both

Impressive. I thought it was gonna be woeful but it looks very promising. Would go and see it on the strength of this trailer for sure.

It looks like shit to me

The real Superman theme from Williams is the best one, though.

Nah, it lacks the 'punch' the Zimmer version has. It's so much more grand/majestic/epic and fits the character so well.
