Wonder Woman Trailer #2

hahah what.

That theme doesn't work with this movie. It's like gluing a mullet to her tiara.

It worked for BvS because that dirgey grey turd needed any sort of life lent to it.

But this is not that.

Hmm. I can't figure out if this is the most wrong you've ever been here on GAF. The track is DOPE.

All this talk about themes, when the movie needs to end with a shot-for-shot remake of the old TV intro. Same rotoscoped comic art transitioning into the real actors.

This is an appeal to tradition for traditions sake. I thought that being derivative wasn't a positive thing.
Wait, so it's okay for the music to not suit the time period or other pieces of musics in the same movie just to be different? I am not sure how they will use the music in the end but your idea is kinda like how force little segments of music into SS where it's not needed. Music should suit and matches the what is shown in the movie and not just placed for the sake for placing it. At least they should remix it to sound more like the setting and modern.

That cello riff didn't work in BvS and it doesn't here either, but the trailer was cool. Could be okay. If it at least has a bit of that Captain America: The First Avenger vibe I'll probably enjoy it.

Nah that kind of anachronistic style was awesome in Marie Antoinette for instance. Appropriate era music shouldn't be a set in stone rule.

But it's not working for this one. I think it is possible to meld modern music with period pieces but this is a dud so far in its marketing. Would have been easier just going a traditional route with the theme.

After being burned by BvS and Suicide Squad I'm trying not to get my hopes up for Wonder Woman. But damn I'm having a hard time not getting hyped for this movie, the trailers have been stellar.

How spoilery is the trailer?

Real basic plot beats. The story of the film itself isn't really gone over too much.

Also, it's a trailer, so by definition, there are no spoilers. Because once the studio decides to start using shit in the marketing, that doesn't apply.

It doesn't and nah. All that lame wordplay that you crammed into that post was pretentious and you know it.

I know you don't appear to know how to use the word pretentious.

Shoulda just went with "lame wordplay" if that's what you meant. Because using words that dont' fit in an attempt to make your point seem stronger than it really is, well, that's what we call...

I dunno man it's pretty poor for the trailers but i totally see that theme working in an especially bombastic action set piece if used very sparingly and with proper build up.

It's a trailer not a film. Your criticism of a trailer for a theme that you have no idea how is going to be used in the film makes no sense. If you cared you would know that the director has a clear vision on how to use it in the film. However, it's definitely part of the character and should be part of the audiovisual promotion of the character in promotional audiovisual material.

The DC cycle of unwarranted hype and inevitable crushing disappointment is fascinating.

I think Sonic fans have had more satisfaction.

A generic but solid enough movie is what the DCEU needs right now. Sadly, it isn't what I'm interested in seeing at the cinema... hopefully it'll end up being something more.

As someone that's seen more generic but solid Marvel movies than I count, I am perfectly fine with Wonder Woman being this. I'd like any DC movie to just aim for "solid" at this point.

Even the trailers for these movies have gotten boring to watch now. Aside from Logan all the recent comic book trailers including from this year's mcu offerings have been mehhhh

Save us JL. Regardless of what the movie will turn out like that man can cut some hype shit for marketing.

Not even so sure that theme worked in BvS. Felt pretty out of place in that movie too. Well,... maybe not 'out of place', just 'not good'

Well that's a personal problem then. The consensus is that track is awesome and people love hearing it.

That said. Trailer looks fine. Looks like a typical origins movie which is something needed right now.

Consenus? It's rather 50:50 on gaf and other places. Put me on #teamshittytheme.
Still remember how i laughed out loud when it appeared in BvS.

Ehhhhh, I don't remember any trailers for BvS blowing me away like Man of Steel's last one did.
