Wonder Woman Trailer #2

Out of curiosity, how many Wonder Woman comics have you actually read?
Please don't derail the thread as always. I know you're about to start a tirade about how she was portrayed as mother theresa for years, but the fact is that her current run, and with current I think I mean 25 years is of a proud warrior. It's the way it is. Like it or not.

They are actually "softening" her here, even compared to BvS.

Unless they were going for subtitles there's little to do there. That train departed when Zod spoke English on MoS.

There were a scene in MoS where Zod speech converted into multiple language though, so it can be assumed that Kryptonians can converse in universal language. And Zod didn't have an accent.

Absolute dogshit. What did I do in life to deserve this treatment of my favorite DC character?

Great accent by the way. "My name is Day Anna" almost got the name of her character right!

Looks like she'd struggle to bench press a Pomeranian.

I'm legitimately depressed over this.

I don't see how it's out of place in that moment. You are talking about when she is first shown and saves Batman right? But alright, opinions and all. I will concede.
The sound of it is incongruent with the rest of the soundtrack. It's too loud. Like Snyder and co. overscored the moment and cranked it up. It stands out in a strange way.

A form of it is also in the scene that Wonder Woman reads an email from Batman and it also doesn't fit that moment.

There's nothing wrong with Gal Gadot in these scenes. It's on Snyder and co.

You'll get an ABC spin-off from Scott Buck.

he is for sure going to be the best part of this movie. Also diana's accent is really really bad. Makes it hard to understand what she's saying.
It's kinda endearing to me, makes her look exotic. I was disappointed when she uploaded a video greeting on Facebook and seemed like she got vocal coaching and got rid of it for the most part

No, I'm gonna derail it. Here, watch me derail it by discussing the character of wonder woman in a thread about wonder woman. As for the rest of that, that's nonsense even for DC movie threads.

I would put money on "way more than you".

If you say so. Regardless, I'm not sure what version of Wonder Woman you've been reading to say that she is someone who doesn't hesitate to 'cut you in half'. I know she killed Max Lord, and I know she did it without remorse, but I also know she did it without enthusiasm, pleasure, or cruelty. Even in her recent darker Azzarello run, she names herself first and foremost a crusader for compassion and love, even fighting against one of the darker and more vile enemies she has.

So, since you claim to have read more wonder woman comics than me, please point out to me the times she cut people (people, not monsters) in half. The only time I can think where she was as merciless and cruel as that is that flashpoint nonsense where she was a full on psycho.

I was thinking the same thing, especially the bench press part. Just can't see her as a big amazonian warrior princess at all.

It's definitely unique. Hopefully it sounds better in the theatre.

Wrong, it rests on Aquaman.

That's debatable. I think Wonder Woman and JL potentially carry more weight in regards to popularity and attainable success. The expected release date for the movie os 10/2018 but both Wonder Woman and Justice League are their premier releases coming this year. When I think of Man of Steel, BvS, and how Suicide Squad were received it is sad and upsetting. They should have been better.

No disrepect to Aquaman but he will not carry DCEU alone. They have already stumbled at their world building by being too broody and going for shock value and this is a fan talking.

Marvel is literally doing this with with DC:
raw

Someone light the Slayven signal.

Well, while we're waiting on that, let me reiterate my point for the sake of clarity. It's not that I don't acknowledge Wonder Woman's warrior side. Obviously, she's a badass fighter. Obviously she can be a killer when event calls for it. It's not even that I think that it shouldn't be a sword she wields. That's all good.

It's only that in the context of the DC cinematic universe, it feels like it's just another focus on darkening the character by emphasizing their killing potential rather than other ways they can resolve their obstacles, which is perfectly possible despite Icon's insinuation that only a Godkiller sword can beat Ares. That's bullshit.

That's all I was saying about it. Not that she shouldn't wield a sword, only what the movie (trailers) focus on the sword as opposed to her Lasso means.

Justice League is gonna kick ass.

That's not what it means. There's an explanation for that, but it's a spoiler.

Your not wrong and your not the only one worried about the overuse of the sword. Rucka's current Rebirth run is actually ditching the sword.

I simultaneously love the Wonder Woman theme while agreeing that it doesn't fit the tone of the trailer as a whole.

This looks like a good movie, tbh. I'm more excited for it than I ever was Batman vs. Superman (which had the most boring trailers).

I have to imagine behind the scenes DC are planning the reboot of this whole thing and just sucking up whats already in motion, this is all so far from where they can and should be that its actually depressing.
