Wonder Woman Trailer #2

I love these posts like "this movie is gonna suck cuz Chris Pine will be the best" like Cap and Thor weren't totally overshadowed by the supporting cast

Consenus? It's rather 50:50 on gaf and other places. Put me on #teamshittytheme.
Still remember how i laughed out loud when it appeared in BvS.

Idk how everyone else thinks, but I can say me and most of the friends in my circle thought the theme was pretty sick. Honestly, probably the most memorable super hero theme in awhile.

Absolute dogshit. What did I do in life to deserve this treatment of my favorite DC character?

Great accent by the way. "My name is Day Anna" almost got the name of her character right!

Looks like she'd struggle to bench press a Pomeranian.

I'm legitimately depressed over this.
What a dumb post. The amazons should have accents

I have to imagine behind the scenes DC are planning the reboot of this whole thing and just sucking up whats already in motion, this is all so far from where they can and should be that its actually depressing.

How is any single second of this trailer far from where they should be?

FUTURE CRITICISM DEFLECTED ONTO OTHERS

You have no idea what "pretentious" means. Bobby's post you may disagree with, but it wasn't pretentious. Had he started by "Well, as a person with a masters in polyrhythmic composition from Juliard..." you mighta' had a point.

I didn't say HE was, just the content of his POST.

Watching the first half of the trailer reminded me how they could do an awesome Masters of the Universe film and do the stories of He-Man and She-Ra separately and then combine forces in a sequel together.

Looks moderate as hell. Nothing about it looks interesting or striking in a unique manner.

Still not convinced by her portal. It's typically superficial and glamorous, as opposed to a physically strong and muscular wonder woman, she is meant to be an amazon after all. Gal's wonder woman is not intimidating or imposing.

Looks good to me. Gal Gadot certainly looks the part. Hopefully her acting will be fine as well.

Chris Pine is really selling it as Steve Trevor.

Wait, why can't they be speaking English with an accent? That's perfectly normal

Yeah it's fine, but generally when they do that in films they pick an actor who is able to deliver lines with emotion and charisma even when not speaking in their naive language.

Well, while we're waiting on that, let me reiterate my point for the sake of clarity. It's not that I don't acknowledge Wonder Woman's warrior side. Obviously, she's a badass fighter. Obviously she can be a killer when event calls for it. It's not even that I think that it shouldn't be a sword she wields. That's all good.

It's only that in the context of the DC cinematic universe, it feels like it's just another focus on darkening the character by emphasizing their killing potential rather than other ways they can resolve their obstacles, which is perfectly possible despite Icon's insinuation that only a Godkiller sword can beat Ares. That's bullshit.

That's all I was saying about it. Not that she shouldn't wield a sword, only what the movie (trailers) focus on the sword as opposed to her Lasso means.

Veelk, how am I supposed to respond to your original post when immediately following you acknowledge it's something she would do?

And I didn't insinuate that the Godkiller sword was the only way she could be beat Ares but you can't deny it would be pretty damn useful for her to have. As the old saying goes, "It's better to have and not need, then need and not have." Ares is a god, the God of War in fact, and relishes death. It would seem pretty naive to me to not bring something that holds at least some kind of intimidation factor. Batman doesn't need kryptonite to beat Superman but you can be damned sure he's going to have some on him.

Again: That electric-violing butt-rock Zimmerthing they gave to Diana for Batman v. Superman worked—in Batman v. Superman. There hasn't been a trailer yet for this movie where it doesn't hang off the ass end of it like a fucking rat-tail.

Yup. Like a hemorrhoid in the soundtrack's butthole. I mean, it was already kinda shit in BvS to begin with, here it really feels out of place.

Because that movie looked fucking class A, that's why.

Maybe because BvS was a good looking movie? Maybe to try to maintain consistency in a film universe?

The film doesn't look bad in terms of visuals. It looks on point for the most part.

lol guess I should've refrain from editing my post.

I personally was not a fan of the color grading or the cinematography in BvS. It made a lot of the shots looks super ugly on top of the CG.

There's actual stupid ass pretentious shit on this board and Bobby's comment isn't one of them.

He's right that fucking theme doesn't belong. It's a fucking bundle of Leifeld pouches attatched to every trailer.

A piece of audio representative of the titular character doesn't belong on the promotional audiovisual content of that character?

I mean, you are free not to like it, but that argument is beyond dumb.

Well, promotion is about creating a cohesive message. I think people are saying that while the audio may be good, it clashes with the other stuff. It may have its place in the movie but it sticks out against the more traditional tone of the trailer.
