Graduating from college and entering the real world isn't easy, especially for three unmotivated roommates.

Starring Mail Order Comedy's Blake Anderson, Anders Holm and Adam DeVine, Workaholics is a scripted series that follows three friends fresh out of college who live and work together as telemarketers. Dress codes, deadlines and waking up before noon isn't something these guys are used to. The crew spends their days scheming together to avoid doing any real work and their nights looking for good times.

Get ready for ten half-hour episodes of Workaholics premiering on Wednesday, April 6 at 10:30pm / 9:30c, directed by Kyle Newacheck and executive produced by Kevin Etten ("Scrubs").

Adam
workaholics_adam_r3.jpg

He's the guy at the party who's everyone's friend, but won't remember one name. He gregariously skates through life on his self – proclaimed animal magnetism. Adam's a dim bulb, but his gift to gab makes him a born salesman and he actually likes his job because he's good at it. He never prepares. Strictly instinct. Which sometimes works out and always leaves people in his wake. Overall, he's someone you'd want to work with, not because you can trust him – you can’t – but because he’s probably got a sixer of Rolling Rock on his desk.

Anders

He’s the guy at the party who sets the rules no one follows, then out of frustration, gets embarrassingly drunk and breaks them himself. Anders doesn’t have the charm that Adam has, but he’s book smart, works hard and he’s willing to sacrifice. At the office he yearns to be taken seriously, but he’s a tactless dick. Even if he builds a bridge, he usually burns it down. Constantly tying up loose ends, Anders can end up in knots, but when he loosens up he’s the guy that stumbles home the next day with a little grin, a little shame, and a great story.

Blake

He's the guy at the party who makes a massive cheese and cracker sandwich called the Eliminator. His strange personality makes him interesting, but also misunderstood, which is frustrating because Blake just wants to be himself. When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong constantly happens to this rebellious kid. But Blake understands the human condition in ways that Adam and Anders never will. He enjoys pitting Anders and Adam against each other like Othello’s Iago, if Iago had a sense of humor and a medical marijuana license. Being a weirdo with self confidence, phone sales suits him perfectly. What makes Blake a good friend is that he’s willing to take risks and try new things and he’ll trick you into joining him for a night you’ll never forget… because of the tattoo… and the scar… and the Croatian wife you now have.

.......

So, by the commercials and preview clips it looks pretty good. Lots of heavy drinking, pot smoking and guy humor. Seems like they're shooting for something in the range of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League. I'm looking forward to it, hope it's good.

Looks terrible.... There are you happy VALIS?

No really... I might watch one episode, because somehow I always manage to see at least one episode of every comedy central show. I never even watch the channel. I'm still pissed at them for canceling Stella!

I liked it. The pee test guy was a little over the top but I laughed pretty consistently all the way through. Definitely good enough to keep watching.

I was just snickering at how there were no posts since my OP.

The show is hit or miss, but the 3rd episode is fucking gold.

Cool. How do you know this, though?

Pilot was average. It might be something to watch if it happens to be on and I'm drunk or some shit, but I'm not going out of my way to watch this consistently.

It looks like a show I would hate, but gave it a try last night and loved it. Will watch again.

I thought it was hilarious how they tried to put that kids pee in a sandwich bag.

Thought also the show would suck but was surprised, pretty good. I wish comedy central and other cable networks would pick up the pace with other developed countries outside of the USA in realizing that swearing and nudity is fine if your on cable and its beyond a certain time.

This is the first network/basic cable sitcom I can think of where they frequently reference pot and simulate smoking it on camera. Even Always Sunny had all their drug use occur off-camera, if I remember.

I saw a 2-3 episodes of this a few weeks ago on Comedy Central.

Owner of the company wanted the guys to kill him for insurance money or something, they talk him out of it and he decided to sell the company instead... something like that.

I thought it was interesting and it was kinda funny.
I was only half-watching it though since it was on in the background while I did something else.

I would be more confident if it was on FX like those two. FX has really had an amazing lineup recently. I reserve cautious optimsm, though, and will give it a try.

I thought it was pretty good, albeit hit-or-miss at times. I laughed pretty hard at the cosmonaut rap at the end, and the shrek joke in the preview for next week.

These guys are too losery to relate to. They always fail, too. It's unsettling to watch like an episode of I Love Lucy or something, lol.

first episode was funny. so far so good.

i think the key is to revel in smug superiority.

maybe try laughing at them and not with them?

Man, I thought this show was just going to be lazy humor, and...

Okay, it's pretty lazy. But I did really enjoy both episodes and had to pause and rewind twice in this latest one ("2 hits" and the whole alternate Clippers plan in the car).

tell me i'm not the only one who noticed the similarity of looks from the first time seeing a commercial for this show?

Watched every episode thus far, not a bad show. Shame Comedy Central will cancel it here in a couple of weeks or not renew it.

Found it pretty horrible viewing for the first 3 eps. For a "stoner" type show it wasn't that well written, which may be contradictory, but there it is.
