lol @ how this didn't show up earlier. I totally forgot.

Anyways good thread.

And does anyone know how popular Pokemon is in Japan compared to what it was its first year there? I though it died a little there but those lines beg to differ...

Mushi King is still so popular in Japan right now (Bug King, somehow you wouldn't think little girls would like having two cockroaches fight each other but they line up in the game centers to do it...and even become experts in real life bugs and stuff like that)

So there's a new Donkey Kong game for GameCube? What kinda game is it? And does it require those drum controllers or is it normal?

Look at the pictures again, you can see them playing the bongos

Yes, a new game it's called Donkey Kong Bongo Blast , it's a racing game and it requires the bongos, it's coming out around the same time as Super Mario Paper.
BTW,Diddy Kong confirmed in the game. :D

Check out the DS in that girl's hand.[/QUOTE]
Looks like a normal Japanese pink one with stickers all over it.

Is that Harvest Moon that I see? I'm pretty sure that I see Harvest Moon. But it's not the Shin Harvest Moon DS game, and it's probably not the Cockblock Station game, since that's really old (in Japan), so then WTF could it be?

That must mean that Nintendo is publishing Diddy Kong Racing DS.

Nintendo is sure publishing Diddy Kong racing, Diddy Kong and all the Kong family belongs to Nintendo, they own them and all the games related to them. Rare lost all the rights to them, when they were bought by microsoft. Diddy Kong appears in several Mario Sports games Tennis,Golf & Baseball and Donkey Konga 1,2 and 3 and Dixie Kong appears in Donkey Konga 2 , 3 and Mario Baseball.
For the Diddy Kong Racing DS version i think they're replacing Banjo and Conker for some of the Kongs, since i don't think Microsoft wants to let their IP's being in Nintendo Systems, they're including some of the Kongs instead, we could see Tiny Kong making an appearance in the trailer of the DS version and none of the Rare characters were spotted.

It's pretty cool to see little kids getting to play the latest software at these shows instead of fat, greasy journalists.

Perhaps Puzzle de Harvest Moon? http://ds.ign.com/objects/827/827450.html

I'd be interested in bongo impressions, and Super Paper Mario to a smaller extent. Any journalists go to this kids thing?

Could be either Puzzle de Harvest Moon or the girls version of the main game that's coming out in August here, wich it has been confirmed as well coming, but hasn't been released in Japan yet.

I see those every day on the train. A blinged out pink DS is strangely common here.

In USA and Europe gaming is a boys/man thing, but in Japan it is more a 50/50% basis.
Also on TGS you saw 50% girls..

Eeeeh... I dunno about 50/50. I still see more guys in game stores than girls. I`d call it 60/40. Honestly though, it`s not just the fact that the girls like games more. There are also games for girls in Japan. Also, unlike women in America, women LOVE CUTE. If it`s cute, they`re all over it. In America, more often than not, if it`s cute, girls will probably call it `childish.`
