Worst anime you've ever seen?

Saw a few minutes of some Beyblade anime a few weeks ago, waiting for something else to come on.

That one.

I must be watching the wrong (right?) anime since I've never heard "uguu~" uttered once.

That video was hilarious btw, kinda makes me want to watch the anime just to crack up laughing every time she says it!

Might be Grappler Baki,

It's a guilty pleasure lol.

I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to anime, I even enjoy Bleach and Naruto (sometimes), but even I really dislike Sword Art Online. Just has no redeeming factors for me.

Lucky star. Not because of actual quality, but because it glorifies everything that is wrong with what Anime became. A bunch of cheap one-liners and pandering to make absolute losers feel better about themselves.

Gunbuster. Absolute trash.

I hear Diebuster is the total opposite as a show though so I should probably check that out some day.

Actual worst is Mars of Destruction though.

First episode is dreadful.

It's a strange series, but it has a lot of Japan pop-culture references that I didn't get, but still has fun situations and whatnot, I enjoyed it.

The first episode was terrible, I couldn't get much further afterwards, but I have seen episode 7 as well, which, was somewhat of an improvement.

I must come off as a right dunce slating Lucky Star with a Haruhi picture.

Probably Sword Art Online. I mean, I've seen anime that aren't good before but SAO is the first anime I watched that has been offensively bad.

This does get real bad. And If I remember correctly, poorly handed kick ass-que rape stuff that just ends up adding to terrible. Rape is one of those things where as if you do not do it correctly it can screw up the entirety of a story. And this story was already pretty bad.

Speaking or saturday mornings.

Do you know lego got an anime?

Probably Pilot Candidate, Trinity Blood, and Ravemaster. I would add SAO to the list, but I'm having way to much fun hate watching this show with the rest of ToonamiGAF.

On another note DNAngel was so ludicrously dull and stale that I don't understand how they churned over 20 episodes out of something so ridiculously tiresome.

Just remembered another bad one. Baoh! This shit cracks me up every time. Dude's face melts off and then he's a skeleton still screaming, hands firmly on the wheel. It's just too much hahaha

It was good from ep 1-15 then it becomes THE WORST ANIME EVER
It started of as a nice story about survival and then slowly turns into some weird "got to rescue girlfriend/my sister is secretly in love with me" thing. Jumped off after episode 17

Pilot Candidate which is odd, I remember liking it when I was 12.
Tokko
and more recently Sword Art Online....but watching it along with ToonamiGAF makes it worthwhile.

Baoh is one of those super violent bad-but-enjoyable OVA's from the 80's, and I'll always be fond of it for that. Also created by Hirohiko Araki, best known for Jojo's BIzarre Adventures.

Kure-nai, mainly because of this person who also happens to be the main character.

A damp squib of a guy who despite having superior fighting skills and powers often lets bullies walk all over him and even hurt those he's meant to protect. It's rage inducing to watch.

I don't watch a lot on anime. But my God, Mouse was an awful one. Bad humor, annoying characters and story that makes no sense what so ever.

But it's only 12 episodes, it's short I give it that.

Macross 7: Hey, lets perform the same song in almost all 50+ eps!

Tenchi in Tokyo

SD Gundam

The anime transformers with mini powerup cars

The other transformers anime

bobobobo

Zatchbell

B Daman

BeyBlade Generation/ G

Moncole Knights

Fighting Foodon

Pokemon Chronicles

Buncha new anime watchers in this thread, SAO.. really? A colossal disappointment is far from the totally shit shows Japan has put out. For example:

Rizelmine
Barely teenaged Rizel has been bioengineered by the Japanese government to be the perfect wife - demure, subservient, and more than a little eager to get in bed with her chosen husband. Unfortunately, the Japanese government (as it is wont to do) has chosen for her the most improbable mate: Iwaki Tomonori, a fifteen-year-old jerk with a mean streak a mile wide, a penchant for abuse, and a preference for older women (which Rizel is most definitely not). And while he beats her and verbally derides her, she doesn't mind so much as long as he pays attention to her. Of course, ignoring your perfect wife means the wrath of her nitroglycerin tears ... but as long as you even deign to pay attention, you should be okay, "Danna-sama" ("honorable husband").
I'm hardly Mr touchy-feely White Knight but even this offends the fuck out of me.

Fairy Tail, Bleach, Beelzebub, Sword Art Online, Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka, Elfen Lied.

Off the top of my head. I've seen a few eps of some other pretty shit series as well but these were the worst.

It's not hard to avoid bad anime, man. Read reviews and user impressions.

Mars of Destruction. It was sold to me as one of those "so bad it's hilarious just watch it" but it just fucking gave me a headache.

It seriously is the worst anime, hands down. Bad production values, horrible story, more cliches than is ever advisable. It's just straight up plain bad bad bad bad bad.

This thread is filled with far too many totally acceptable shows. You folks can't even begin to imagine what the "worst" anime truly is.

I've only watched a handful of anime in my life (less than 10) but the only ones I disliked were

Pokemon - Even as a kid with low standards and a big fan of the games I found this to be incredibly boring.

Cowboy Bebop - I only watched about 6 episodes of this, but everything about it was extremely bland and lifeless and it has some of the worst music I've ever heard

One Piece - Horrible artstyle, annoying music, annoying voices

Might as well add Angel's Egg if we are throwing in stuff like Akira!

Real answer might be something like Blue Seagull or Black Magic M-66. I try avoid most bad things....unless they are so bad they become good.

I think my nod goes to Megazone 23, probably because I stop watching bad shows after one or two episodes and completely forget about them a day later. Not so with this though, oh no. Starts out with a nice near future 80's sci fi tone with motorbikes and kids in gangs, quickly turns incomprehensible with some strange "this world isn't the real one" thing, a lot of bad action scenes and strange character behaviour. Also switches the art style up between the episodes, probably because their releases were separated by years. Doesn't help much with keeping track of which character is which.

It did make for some fun nights with me and a buddy sitting and screaming questions at the screen, not sure if it's quite bad enough to be good, but perhaps almost.

Melody of Oblivion

Early 2000's J.C. Staff, some input by Gainax. Some of the crew from Utena? Sounds great.

WRONG.

never before has a show failed on almost every conceivable level. Trying to do a more cerebral story like Evangelion or Utena, and just failing at every point. The show is worth a watch just to see a train wreck in action, not to mention a final 4 episodes where the stopped caring at all about the story and just did any silly thing that came to mind.

The series only positive was a decent soundtrack and the hilarity of this being the show's defining image.

It's available via crunchyroll, and like I said, worth a watch just to see the train wreck for yourself.
