Worst injury you've sustained?

Got hit by a car. Broke my collar bone and busted my head in two places. My Doctor believe it's also what gave me scoliosis, as I didn't have it before then.

Broke my arm - falling off a climbing frame.

Broke my finger - Saving a football during a game of...Football.

Broke my toe - kicking the spindle on a bannister. Really hard.

Stepped on an upturned plug - Fucking hurts like hell.

playing football I dislocated my elbow, twisted it, broke my forearm and my wrist. Was the most painful thing I've ever been through. THey gave me so much pain medicine that I blacked out.

Probably just minor cuts. No broken anything, blood loss, muscle/tendon/ligament tears, etc.

I guess now that I think about it more - a muscle strain maybe while playing tackle football for my city?

When I was 9 I had a huge chunk of glass from a wall sized mirror lodged into the top of my skull.

That was a crazy amount of blood.

I considered myself very lucky that the worst I've ever gotten was appendicitis. But holy freaking crap, was it so very painful.

Played full contact football
(handegg)
for 10 years, Karate for 7 years and hockey for 6 and I've never broken a single bone.

That being said, in June 2009 (the day Michael Jackson died actually), my friend swung a baseball hat at my face and the buckle impacted my eye causing it to instantly fill with blood. I've had a lifelong phobia of anything related to the eyes, so regaining consciousness with one being completely filled with blood and bleeding out of the socket was literally a living nightmare for me. I can't even recall another time when I was more straight up scared in a moment then I was that morning.

had very deep cut in the knee area. it needed stitching, now that area looks like spider.

cut off the tip of left thumb while cutting a coconut.

cricket ball hit in the chin, also needed stitching there. the good part was we won that game. but the funny thing was, i had severe pain in the jaw, couldn't open my mouth. thought it would go way. didn't go to the doctor for about a week. but after seeing a doctor the pain just went away, didn't have to buy any medication at all.

When I was 7 or so I broke my wrist trying to climb a fence. I fell from the top and landed right on my wrist. When I went to the emergency room the dr set my bone wrong. He set it the opposite way. After 24 hours my wrist turned purple and was about double in size from the swelling. I went to my normal dr the next day and he had to re-break my arm and set it the right way. That was the worst.

Easily when I was bit by a brown recluse spider.

I also accidentally fell face first onto a knife. Still, fucking spider.

open fracture of my left arm. My forearm bone was out in the air...

breaking my jaw and five teeth was incredibly painful as well. Rehabilitation was even worse

Got hit in the ankle by friendly fire shrapnel during Desert Storm. Chewed up my ankle bone pretty good; I laid there afraid to take my boot off because I thought my foot was severed. Healed damn good; it's like nothing ever happened, except for the scar.

Broken ankles three times (skateboarding), foot once (football). Bones in my finger got split last year when it got wedged in a tree trunk I was cutting down. That was pretty painful.

a strangers dog ripped my arm open when I was 4 and in an open field, far away from streets or a phone. I could have easily been mutilated or dead, but got extremly lucky. the scar is pretty big, but its cool.

I got sciatica back in early 2011. I wanted to get bigger, but I was unemployed at that time, didn't have money for daily recommended protein intake, my body was extremely weak...I was overexercising and also using poor form. A disc in the spinal cord finally slipped while I was doing, "bent over rows" in poor form. The pain was really something else...I couldn't sleep, I couldn't sit, I had to walk around hallways to ease the pain. I went to the doctor but he couldn't do anything since I didn't have insurance.... I actually wrote a professional exam with that pain, I couldn't even sit but somehow I managed to write it and get 74%...

Yoga finally cured me (thank you Youtube!!!), took me about 6 months. And for those who don't know, when the disc slipped it started rubbing a major nerve that runs down to the legs. In my case, the pain ran from the lower back down to one of my leg. Nerve pain is extremely painful!

I've always been pretty lucky, I've only had a few sprains and a couple bike falls that left some scars when I was a kid.

Nothing nearly as bad as some people have mentioned. I think my worst ones were breaking open my chin falling in the bathtub, detaching part of my eyelid hitting it on a bedpost while jumping on the bed as a child, and one of those sets of aluminum above-ground pool stairs collapsing on my foot and slicing it open. These all happened when I was fairly young.

ACL + MCL tear in same knee. Playing inter-house Ultimate Frisbee when I was 17. Jumped up, caught the frisbee, landed, knee explosion.

Nothing too awful.

Nearly punctured the front of my skull when I was 2 by falling on an iron stud that poked out of a large chest. My mom said that blood was just gushing from the wound and I was sitting there giggling at my mom freaking out.

Broke my left wrist while rollerskating when a pair of punk ass kids cut me off and caused me to fall when I tried to avoid hitting them. Fell on my left wrist, got a neat fracture. It honestly wasn't too painful.

Roughhousing in the pool with friends. Slipped and fell on the stairs face-first. Twisted my head violently (probably causing my phobia of neck torquing/breaking to generate) and busted my right eyebrow open nastily. My friend was shrieking, saying that my eyeball was hanging out. I don't even remember if it was painful or not.

Fell down the stairs a bunch of times in my life; also fell off some trees. Never any broken bones or even any sprained limbs, but man, that's another phobia of mine now.

Most pain I've ever had has to be a long bout of tendinitis and a bloody ulcer that put me in the emergency room at 2am in the morning. Fortunately, I haven't had any issues with either in a long time.

Broke my right arm in half. Clean.

Surgery. Had a cast and metal rods in my arm for 6 months.

Had to learn to write with my left.

I was about 3, I think. Made a fort of chairs and sheets with my brother and a friend to sleep in; morning comes and the sheets are sagging, my brother and friend get out to adjust them -- BAM! Chair falls on my face and cuts me right above the left eye. Had to get stitches for that.

I was in kindergarten, so I was probably 5; my brother was push/pulling me around the house in this little red cart, it was small enough to where most of my arms legs were hanging outside of it. It was great fun until my brother pushed me from the kitchen into the living room, where a pile of unfolded clothes in front of the fireplace would bring me to a stop (we were too young to understand force/momentum). The cart hits the clothes and stops but my body keeps traveling and I flip backwards, head splitting open against the fireplace. Had to get 14 staples for that, and I awoke from anesthesia when they were ka-chunking them in.

This thread is ridiculous. I've never broken anything, just sprained my foot a couple times skateboarding. Also shut my left middle finger in a car door and had to get a couple stitches once.

Nothing serious. The worst was when I was like 14 and was playing football (soccer) and twisted my ankle in a weird way. It got swelled very badly, could barely make out where my ankle was. Went to the hospital, got an x-ray done and they told me I damaged some stuff and to just rest it off. Couldn't walk on it for a week, but it went back to normal.

Broke my jaw in a high school basketball game and had my mouth wired shut for 7 weeks. When removing the wires from my gums, I opted for no anesthesia to save my parents some money since the insurance didn't completely cover it. Two seconds into the procedure, I immediately thought "I 've made a huge mistake"

I've been lucky, only a recently sprained ankle comes to mind. The worst pain I've ever felt has been kidney stones though. Still, that doesn't really count as an injury.

i tripped and my whole face went thru the glass door breaking my nose. A month later, a baseball ricochet off my friends glove and hit me on the nose again...

Suprisingly tame considering how my childhood days were spent. I fell out of a tree and landed on some cut glass, cutting my finger to the bone. The only one that comes close to that was when I fell down the stairs and couldn't use my arm or shoulder for 2 weeks. Wasn't as painful as the cut though.

Probably snapping my banjo string

That or when I got my foot trapped in a roundabout as a kid and got dragged round and lost a load of skin off my back

Worst as in "coulda died"? Shot in the head. Luckily there was a helmet there. Still rung my bell and had a concussion.

Worst as in "hurts so bad I think I'm gonna die"? Shrapnel in the leg. Bled like a stuck pig and that shit was hot as fire. I didn't know if I'd lost my dick or femoral artery was cut with all the blood and pain. Figured it wasn't the artery after I was still alive when I made it back to the medical tent, and then I apparently started asking if I still had a dick. The attending nurse very kindly, but forcefully said "yes, Sargeant, you still have your dick. Please stop asking now." I asked her out later, but she said she'd seen everything she needed to. Ice cold.

Broken Nose at a Dillanger Escape Plan show, blood everywhere but wasnt too painful.

Broken Toe after dropping a weight on it. Turned black, toenail fell off.
