Worst thing you have eaten

Cincinnati chili.

Putrid garbage and an embarrassment to our state.

Skyline Chili is the absolute worst. They built one where I used to live in Northern Ohio. Went there once and never went back.

On topic: Caribou. Dad went on a hunting trip to Canada and brought some home. Because they only eat moss, that's what it takes like.

Squid.

I'm gagging when I think about it again.

I gotta eat this as part of my lunch at the school I'm teaching in Japan. Gotta teach my kids to finish everything off their plate so I can't say no. :(

squid is delicious you silly american/european

not to be eaten while still alive though (I'm looking at you korean)

Colonel Parker cocktail (technically not "eaten", but still)

-Peanut Butter
-Milk
-Ice Cream
-Golden Syrup
-Too much Jack Daniels

urgh.

(Also this Christmas sandwich I had with way too much raw onion in it)

Paya. I was told by the Indian waiter it was a delicacy in their country with lamb as the main component. What it actually was was a lamb bone with barely any fucking meat on it in some water broth with a few spices.

Got my money back on that piece of shit and ordered a pizza.

I remember one "dish" they served in high-school on occasion. Officially it was a meat stew with rice. That might be true. Provided you called it meat. Or, even worse, that if you called it meat what kind of meat it was because that was not nothing like beef no matter what they insisted, I'll tell you that much. It had a type of rubber-like consistency, no texture whatsoever and managed to simultaneously have a type of slimy feel. The taste was like a horrible blend of slightly rancid fat and yogurt past its expiration date.

I've never been closer to throwing up from the first bite, not before and not after. They kept serving it and each time after I was careful to only take some sauce and rice.

Definitely gotta go with Little Caesar's pizza...... and then I keep getting baited by the $5 price for a whole pizza.
More bland than dollar pizzas at the grocery store.

Sometimes I hate that "cheap" is a selling point, especially with food (and especially with Pizza!). Just pay some money and get something worth eating. Sheesh.

Places like Little Caesar's stay in business because people see value there. I just see garbage food; if anything, $5 is too much.

Coconut is just the worst...Why would you want it in a chocolate bar?

There is a meal here in Italy called "Suzzu". It's basically pig's ears, feet and parts of the head mixed with some sort of jelly and stored in a bowl in the freezer. People saying McDonald's is the worst thing they ever ate should try this.

My stepmother would make fried mashed potatoes.

Like, take mashed potatoes, throw them in a pan, add sugar and ???, then serve them up.

It was disgusting. But I ate some anyway because she was cray.

what's wrong with half the posts on page 1? lots of delicious things to eat.

This page though, these people get it.

OP's food looked poor but nothing to get upset over.

Ha, I'm down for almost anything (I fucking LOVE Takoyaki) but there's a limit when I can still see said animal's head, feet, arms, sticking out of my food.

come down south to SEA, we eat stuffs that you can only dreamed off

lol yeah, thans to 소녀시대 I get to know all the strange stuff Korean does :D

Yeah century egg and balut are on my "no, no way, no how, never in million years" list.

This. I would literally starve to death if I had no other food options.

Don't know if it's the worst thing I've eaten, but currently suffering the consequences of some bad seafood broth. Should've ordered pizza like a normal person.. would've been cheaper too.

When I was in Indonesia I saw a street vendor selling something called 'sop kaki sapi,' which could translate to either cow leg soup or cow foot soup. I assumed it was cow leg but no, it was a foot in a bowl. And it did not taste good at all.

I want to nominate something that's kind of a normal foodstuff, but was made the worst because of the circumstances in which I ate it.

So at work sometimes they have catered food for meetings and such, and we get to eat leftovers from it in the afternoon. There were little bowls of what I thought was some kind of chocolate mousse, so I tried a little bit and nearly puked because it was actually some kind of meat pate (probably liver)... the fact I was expecting something sweet and was given something so strongly meaty is what did it. For the record I love meat/savoury stuff but I don't like pate a whole lot. My fault for eating something random that wasn't for me I guess!

I had chocolate covered worms from Africa once - I couldn't even swallow them.

Most recently my girlfriend and I ate fish eye balls while on vacation on the small island known as Isla de Mujures. Here she is about to eat it:

Iceberg lettuce.

I've probably had worse food, but this is something I've constantly tried to make myself like because it's almost always used for salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. rather than the superior green leaf or romaine varieties.

Shit just ruins sandwiches for me.

I don't remember the name but it was some kind of Indian curry, it looked like this

My god the smell was disgusting, from that day I can not even smell curry or I will throw up.

Oh god this.

They put dried orange skin, to <ahem> improve the smell and flavour...

Rhubarb and rhubarb pie is pretty nasty. For some reason it's my parents favorite pie and my mom makes multiples of it over the course of a summer. To me it just tastes like bitter celery.

Lunch at my old school. The sausage pan was "legendary". The watered down juice we had to drink with it was even worse. Everybody else in my platoon found military rations disgusting, I was amazed how much better they were than school lunch...

balut and durian are not terrible... i can't eat too many balut in one sitting, but they taste decent.

i'd still rather eat balut over chicken feet...that's just inedible bones/skin/cartilage
