Would you buy an empty game case + manual for your digital purchases if offered?

Sometime the physical boxes for digital releases end up being rare. It's hard to find the box and poster (together) for GTA IV Lost and Damned.

I love boxes and "manuals" (they seem to be shittier and shittier as time passes by) because of the peace of mind the idea which playing anywhere without requiring an internet connection provides me.

Yes. I want To Be able To buy download codes inside normal gamecases. So I can still create a "Collection" and enjoy the competitive prices between stores. While having the benefits of a digital copy.

I would like this as well but I'm not sure if I'd keep the box after redeeming the code. Would almost be like keeping a box for Microsoft Points to me.

I would have once upon a time, but living in tiny-ass New York apartments and making multiple moves in recent years has convinced me that less is more.

No. I don't care about the box, I care about having a physical version of a game so that I will always own it and can always play it - even 30 years down the line.

I prefer physical over digital, but I don't see myself buying empty boxes unless they were something like this:

No. I buy boxed copies because I have a bandwith cap, otherwise i'd be downloading the shit out of everything

No.

Less clutter, nothing to move with me if / when I move house, and no-one cares about seeing my game collection on the shelf.

I'm thoroughly over my collector days.

Yikes... I could never live like this!

For major things I care about, I totally would. Not having a Demon's Souls 2 box on my shelf just sounds like sacrilege.

Telltale actually offers this for all of their games except for TWD (non-Steam versions of course). I thought it was pretty cool when I got an email offering it, you just paid for shipping which was almost nothing.

That being said, I'd probably only do it for my absolute favorite series, to line up with all the old games, like a geek. Squaresoft & Konami games, etc.

So I've officially gone digital only starting with this next gen. Almost all my wiiu games are digital (blah blah no universal account I know) and I plan to do the same for the ps4.

That said, I'm really starting to miss having a nice row of game boxes on my shelf to go along with my new games. This is even worse when I know games I'm downloading have gorgeous box art (pikmin 3 and soon w101 and wwhd as well). Has anyone else felt this unfortunate sting of going digital? Is there a market out there for empty boxes?

I would for Ace Attorney 5. It would feel weird to not see AA5 along with collection I had.

I'd rather buy physical and get a physical game and have the option to download a digital copy onto my console for free.

Your way seems backwards as hell. I mean why even go all digital if you want boxes?

I started to make boxes and covers for my Steam / PC DD games, but I never finished. At the end of the day, who cares?

On a slightly related topic, if I could buy a DLC-free disc version of every game - even at a higher price, say 20% more, I would.

maybe if it would include some cool benefits. E.g. maps (Bethesda and Rockstar games) or a small book including Artworks, or a short story.
But it was just for the code and a black and white manual in 20 languages that tells you not to play longer than 1 hour at a time ... then NO.

No chance haha. I'm going all digital to free up space on my dvd/game shelf, maybe if the booklet went back to actually being a booklet not just a leaflet in the case I might consider it.

Your digital prices will go up because you will have to pay the shipping, manufacturing, stocking, etc fees. The publishers definitely won't.

Duck tales do that.

Display case with boxart sure

I like the manual in the actual game though. Something I've kinda grown accustomed to with the vita

I hate this trend. I rarely feel like switching out of the game to load the instruction manual when I need some quick info. I really miss the majority of games coming with manuals, I could and usually would have the manual next to me as I played most games for quick reference.

Yup. One of the reasons I was looking forward to the XB1 was this very thing. I looked at physical copies as a digital delivery system that would also indulge the box art collector in me. PS4 became my go to console when the 180 happened.

Really hoping the PS4 will have a nice "My Collection" section of digitally owned games.

Pretty much this.

After buying 55 XBLA games...only to find out that I can't take them with me to XBONE, I feel like nothing is left of my purchase. I want something to remain.

They'll probably be on your Xbox One
