WoW Patch 4.3: Deathwing, Change Armor Appearance, More Bank Storage

Will this work the same way as EQ2 does it? An appearance tab?

Edit: guess not, that would have been a lot easier than going to a vendor. lol

RP players around the globe rejoice. Not for the armor appearance thing, but for the extra bank space :P

When I quit there were people still doing organized weekly PUGs for MC and BWL - in 2010. Old World Raiders unite!

He comes out of it when fighting Alexstraza. Where else would he come from? It was his ancient prison and is now at the hands of his minions. There's a whole underground level beyond the last boss (from where Valiena and the orc come).

I dunno... sure, it makes sense that Grim Batol is much bigger than what we saw in the 5 man(considering the size of the mountain its built into too), and that we last saw Deathwing fighting above it, but i'll need more than this to confirm it. :P

I'm hoping for something unique, like an instanced SW or Orgrimmar under attack.

Kinda cool about the armor thing, but not if you have to have the older set in order to use the look.

I wouldn't mind rocking the shadowcraft set on my rogue, but no way in hell am I now going to relook for the parts.

They've already done the whole kill the beast from the inside out with C'thun.

Not that I ever got to see that, as tank.

(No, wait, I'm thinking of Yogg, there. Cthun, I never got to see while it was relevant)

Wasn't that where he was imprisoned... before they moved his prison to Deepholm? I don't recall anything much in *recent* lore about him having set up shop around there.

I don't think so? IIRC, he was defeated at Grim Batol when the Demon Soul was shattered. Grim Batol was where he and the Blackmaw were basically raping Alex for eggs. Then he just disappeared. Until they revealed where he had been. I could be remembering wrong though.

However, Blizzard has reaaaalllllly screwed the pooch with him. Where is he? What is he doing? Doesn't he want to destroy everything? Why not just go on a rampage and set every zone on fire? He rarely shows up and doesn't seem like much of a threat anymore. Ragnaros feels like more of the main boss than Deathwing at this point. =/

Hey, hey, I killed it *stands proud*

In BC at level 70, and we almost had to quit on Twins for wiping more than once *cries*

I'm sure there's some stuff in Deepholm about his prison chains being there (just south of the temple?). I think they, er, adjusted the lore.

I think he's spending most of his time writing snotty messages on the official forums complaining about how Blizzard have nerfed his fire, which no longer destroys all life on earth for more than about 30 seconds.

Yeah, the next old god fight was pretty much the only thing I was seriously looking forward to in this expansion. No N'zoth = my unsubscrip... oh who am I kidding, I have nothing else to do with my life.

I still had my Rogue's T6 gear set in the bank, for nostalgia purposes. If I were still playing, he would never sport a look other than badge pants and boots + T6 shoulders + Blade of Infamy + Blade of Savagery. Ahh, the nostalgia.

I just don't have the time to take WoW as seriously as I did back in the day. My raiding days are toast. But I still have my Gronnstalker set in the bank.

Gonna ROCK THAT ISH! I loved that set so much.

That and Tier 0 Paladin armor. Still my favorite. It would be nice if they had some database that tracked all your previous soulbound gear and just let you chose from that.

But it'll be fun farming old gear just for looks.

So with every epic bad guy dead, who is there left to kill?

Isn't it obvious? Panda bad guys!

Kil'Jaeden and Sargaras are really the only ones left besides Old Gods. Which you really can't "kill" anyway.

Edit: Guess I did forget about Azshara and Future Nosdormu. (sp). To be honest though, after Cata, the less dragons, the better. They are boring as fuck now. Azshara means water zones which makes me throw up a little inside. =/

? azshara, future nozdormu, burning legion, old gods, etc. etc. there are plenty of bad guys that we already know about that still need to be fought.

3% is being generous. I'd say less than 1% of the players remaining have done it.

Can't wait for this xpac to be over. Cata destroyed my guild and server and I quit rather than paying $250 to xfer all my 10 toons to another server.

I'm surprised we aren't going to be fighting an old god at all this expansion (unless its either in 5 man form/not the main attraction in the Deathwing raid) given how closely they've been associated with Deathwing. No Azshara either, despite Blizzard initially pitching her as one of the main characters of the expansion. This combined with the change to 5 lvl increments instead of 10 and the Pandaria rumors has me believing Blizzard really wants to stretch out their plan for the narrative arc of the game far beyond what they had initially. This should have been the expansion to confront all of the remaining old gods and their allies and the next expansion should have had us going to Argus to finish off the Burning Legion, culminating in the end of WoW's portion of the Warcraft story. The Pandaren will feel like a filler episode after fighting The Lich King and Deathwing.

are they out of ideas or why do they add something like "Transmogrification"?
pointless...

Running low on ideas, they might be, but this is actually a feature that really should have been in the game a while back. Other mmos have been doing it and with the promising competitor GW2 highlighting it as a feature, Blizzard really needs to make sure they are at least matching their opponents where it makes sense to do so.

Oh yeah... Azshara... i guess they also need to finish the whole "Hey, the Water Elemental Lord got kidnapped by the naga's giant octopus pet" story someday. If there is ever an Azshara expansion, he'll have to be there.

Seeing her in Darkshore was such a tease. And all she does is talking. :(

Change armor sounds awesome, let's just hope it doesn't cost me like 500G.

500g is literally free with how much gold people have these days. All my characters combined probably have 100k, and im sure lots of players have more than that.

What's 500G? My character is like level 70 Worgen Warrior, and I stopped playing probably a month after Cata came out, maybe two. I have over 1,000 gold on him. If a noobie like me could get that rich before even hitting cap, then you guys who are playing month in month out should have no problem with 500G.

Keep adding stuff to WoW while slowly moving away from it to work on their next projects.

Yeah, 500G is chump change, now.

Heroic-only True Final Boss.

Believe.

(Speaking of which, have we completely dropped the new C'Thun storyline with Cho'gall's death, or is there still stuff to come in that respect?)

So true. In fact, there was a demand for this feature a couple of years back. Didn't Blizz then stated though that it was very hard to implement that feature because of the tech limitations?

Armour swap would have been nice when I was still playing.
Giantstalker will forever be my favourite armour for hunter purely for the massive nostalgia value. Oh god WoW was amazing back then (rose tinted glasses ahoy!)

Oh well.

500g times every piece of armor you have and every time you change a piece of armor would add up, though.

assuming that weapons cannot be changed (they only mentioned armor,) it would take 4.5k gold to transform your gear since only the 8 main pieces + cloak are visible on your character, basically a non-issue.

Interesting. Even though I quit only a few months after Cata came out I figured I'd be excited when Deathwing finally showed up. But I'm not.

Guess I'm finally cured of the WoW Bug (until the next xpac anyway). So...bring on Warcraft 4! Time for another RTS, Blizz!

I hope you have to have found the gear before you can use the appearance, otherwise I'm going to have a lot of useless old tier gear in my bank :lol

People have been complaining about this for years.

They had this all saved up for a rainy day (aka subs dropping).

Once that pic of the ethereals popped up, I started the process of collecting Dragonstalker. I'm not expecting it, but it would be super nice to just let you have access to older tiers, prior to cata, or up to tier 11 without having to own it. It could take a long time just to collect one set.

I'd re-sub for a diablo 3 beta key or even a raffle ticket for a D3 beta key. I got my DK to about 83 and un-subbed. Just couldn't make it through the grind.

I started gathering the Judgement set on my new paladin already, and would just use it for social. If I can change any crappy 85 gear into that, I'll be very happy.

I wonder if they're going to reintroduce the tier 3 sets into the game somehow or just consider those a bonus for the few that got them.

Being able to change the skin of your gear = shit idea, I want to be able to just look at a character at be able to know if he has good or bad gear.

It'll also fuck up pvp, people are gonna have no idea if the dude they're about to engage is some random guy with no pvp gear, or someone in decked out arena gear...

That's a good point.

Slightly off topic, but I went to the WoW site to look at armor sets, but I had no luck finding that anymore. Where on the site is that feature now to look at the different sets for the classes?
