That 70's Show is a much more apt, although less extreme, comparison.

And that turned out horrifically bad.

Oh man, please don't remind me of that. Such a horrible way to end the sitcom. I've always hated half-assed spin-offs. :(

Anyway, I've never watched a full episode of the Scrubs, but my friends who are huge fans will be devastated to hear this news.

Season 8 was good, much better than the crap that was 6/7 but in no way did it reach the heights of 1/2.

I agree with this. S8 was definitely an improvement on the couple shitty seasons that preceded it, but it's nowhere near as good as the show's first few years.

"My Finale" was a great fucking episode though, even if only for its last 10-15 minutes.

This sucks because Scrubs is one of my favorite shows ever. They always have to ruin things to keep them going, if they just stopped with last seasons finale it would have been amazing.

Looking forward to this. Absolutely loved the ending to real scrubs, but nonetheless, I enjoy the show, cast, formula too much to deny myself a good spin off with the scrubs name just on the basis of sentimentality.

This. I thought the ending was perfect, and wrapped up the show nicely. In my mind Scrubs has finished. Won't be watching whatever it is they think this is.

Exactly so I don't see what the fuzz is about. It's just a spin off without a name change. However I won't condemn the new show before it has even started..

I got tired of scrubs a long time ago anyway. For me most of the main cast just got worn out, at first they were funny but the things that made them funny and cool just became crappy. Except for Turk and Todd i just plain don't like them anymore.

Season 5 had some of the best episodes in the series. My Lunch, My Five Stages, My Way Home, My Day at the Races, and many others that were pretty damn good.

Easily one of my favorite seasons.

Season 5 is the epitome of awesome for me. It was the last in my seasons to buy on DVD that are available in Australia and I have been watching it over and over. My Lunch is easily one of the best episodes of anything ever.

In my head, every episode of every season has made me laugh a lot and there is no bad seasons of Scrubs so all the talk about "bad seasons" just makes me go wat.

^ This is the internet, there just has to be (a) bad season(s)!

Didn't know which season it was but all this baby drama shit pissed me off. Oh and that Elliot(sp) is way too skinny in the final one, eat something girl!

I'm looking forward to this to be honest - I was growing tired of J.D, his internal monologue and the generic Scrubs episode format that has worn soooo thin over the years. I generally liked all the interns from Season 8 and Dr. Cox & Turk were two of the main characters that remained funny to me, so i'm eager to see where they can go with this. Also, hopefully there's more Ted now the Janitor won't be returning.

You mean when literally everyone was having babies? I think that was season 7.
