I liked the movie. I just wish I never found out Sarah Silverman was the voice actor for Vanellope.
Saturday must have been good(as expected as kids aren't in school)...estimated 49.1 million for the weekend.
Tsk tsk tsk.
Pokemon Battrio, man.
The bear you are thinking of wears a red cap. I still think it may be Link. Also I don't remember Frogger having a shell or being blue.In the art book there is a picture of a small brown bear wearing a green cap that looks exactly like this character. I'm sorry, but it isn't Link. Also, that turtle/frog thing is Frogger.
There are lots of game character references that never had an arcade release in this movie. Also Pokemon Pinball.Pokeymans don't have arcade releases.
Nintendo actually has a lot of their mascots in modern arcade releases now. Shouldn't be too hard to put them in the sequel. I mean there's Pokemon Battrio, Donkey Kong Jungle Fever, Mario Kart GP, F-Zero AX, Punch-Out!!, etc.

this is very helpful, thanksProbably. It is more of an actual movie then the trailer lets on. Best way to describe it is a mix of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Toy Story, and a dash of another animated classic I can't say. Now it does have flaws so don't go in with too lofty expectations but it is a wonderful film. The nostalgia stuff is just the sprinkles on top of an already good cake so to speak. They are mostly in the first 10 minutes of the movie but they are not, wisely, too overwhelming to lose the audience.
That is my two cents on it in a nutshell. Hope it helps.
With that said, Sugar Rush as a racing theme video game is kinda a misconception right? I mean candy-themed tracks exist sure but they generally are just one or two tracks of a game rather than the whole racing game being built upon it.![]()
And below is the NOISIA remixed Skrillex track as it appears on the album. Parts of this play during the Hero's Duty sequence. I think it's pretty catchy, actually. It's got a real Super Metroid vibe going on before the dance stuff kicks in and then you gotta love that sample.

ah... thought the original design might have been a homage
Nah, his design is influenced by an old style soda jerk or a member of a barbershop quartet.

There are changes to the sprite between the two versions of the Tapper game however.
paperman was a gorgeous short. loved the animation and direction.
wreck-it-ralph felt like a movie made by 80s arcade dwellers who stopped playing video games right before street fighter ii came out. you have sonic give a psa, and don't start it with 'sonic sez' or end it with 'and that's... no good!'? come on!
i genuinely did not see the plot twist coming at the end. that was a surprise.
the movie itself wasn't bad, but i thought sarah silverman was fucking terrible.
Tee heekill screen over the Disney logo at the end of the credits.
So was Paperman 3D, 2D or a mix? Was there some sort of rotoscoping? I loved it, but it looked like nothing I've ever seen before.

It was a mix. They developed a whole new process. So was Paperman 3D, 2D or a mix? Was there some sort of rotoscoping? I loved it, but it looked like nothing I've ever seen before.
Yeah, I was surprised when FelixThe more and more I think about this movie the more I love it.
I think one of the best story decisions they made was not making Felix and Ralph antagonists. They actually like each other-in any other movie, they would have been out to undermine each other. Even though Ralph was jealous of the attention that Felix got-he didn't rest Felix himself.
The thing being highlighed in the Grand Game Central is not Luke Skywalker on his tauntaun (?), it's a Joust knight riding his ostrich!

All kinds of little things that were well-thought-out.
Vannelope ison the side of the machine, but she's not playable...but nobody in the arcade notices this as a problem due to the rotating roster of characters. It's the same reason the king doesn't seem out of place.
The kingwould want to stay in a cutesy, non-threatening racing world like Sugar Rush, since any death would be permanent for him.

ANDIt's the latest, greatest racing game-so he's popular. Brilliant.
Would it be? He was part of the game's code at that point, so it's a bit of a different scenario than everyone else's game hopping.
Well, I'm not sure about the details.I don't remember if they gave a specific time that he "went Turbo," but presumably it was a long time ago for it to be the thing that it is around the arcade. The game that triggered the event looked 16-bit era at best.
So how many years has he been sneaking around in the background, somehow making sure that nobody knew he was still alive? Either Sugar Rush is older than we think, or he's been hiding for an implausibly long time.
