It's kinda hard to keep your rap edge when you spend your down time following Taylor Swift around on tour. It might be why his past couple singles have been almost straight pop and nowhere near as good as his older stuff.

Like Snoop and Katie Perry, Ludacris and Bieber, Eminem and Rihanna, Three 6 Mafia and Justin Timberlake, etc. Mainstream hip-hop in general has no "edge", everything has conglomerated, similar to the radio conglomerates that get paid to play their dull Pop-hop.
