WWDC09 Thread of iPhones and Snow Leopards

J-GAF, does Softbank support MMS?

EDIT: I guess it doesn't really matter since Japan doesn't use text messaging outside of Softbank's local SMS.

mms support later this year? I hate you so much Steve Jobs.

Don't hate Steve. It's clearly AT&T's fault. How on earth can they not be ready to support a decade-old feature on their flagship phone? Retards.

how could there be any delay with mms? Every phone on the fricken market except the iphone supports it. I mean really?

and i'm bitching at&t not apple.

so the way they said other carriers getting MMS at launch and ATT laterthis summer makes it sound like 3.0 is out today

lol what is it with American networks and MMS??? ffs there are third world countries with better networks..

sorry.. i had to say it.

VERIZON GET ON THIS BITCH!

Ironically, I'd prefer Sprint, their data plan pricing is far better than Verizon, and at least in my area Sprint's network is just as good. But, the whole Pre thing, yeah, not happening.

"Enhancements to iTunes -- rent and purchase movies right from your phone. Can also purchase TV shows, music, and audiobooks."

wow

Tether time! Bring it on. Tell them you put a gun to AT&T execs' heads to do it for free.

wired + bluetooth. nice.

But how much more for tethering? (lovingly stares at my jailbroken iphone)

edit: :lol at AT&T reactions. way to extend the contract Apple!

all these are features that were left out of the fucking OS before for god knows what reason, that are in it now. Basically all available through jailbreaking.

Reinstall Leopard? You had Leopard then downgraded to Tiger?
No. This is for future. You never know when you might have to reinstall. Granted I rarely do it, still. If the upgrade from L to SL goes anywhere near as badly as my upgrade from 10.0 to 10.1, I will be sad. I assume they took the last 8 years to fix upgrading since they haven't done an actual upgrade since 10.1.

Really? I was wondering about that because we bought the family pack Leopard and have installed it on my uncles machine and others past the 5 limit or whatever it is.
Yep. The only physical differences are the packaging.

Since OS X doesn't require a serial number and therefore doesn't need to check Apple's servers to make sure you have only installed it on one machine, there's no way they can actually make the discs different. They only make family packs to give the honest people peace of mind knowing that they A) don't have to buy 5 separate $130 copies of OS X and B) can just buy a cheaper pack with a "license" to install on more than one machine.

I assume this Snow Leopard will only install on Intel. So that's fine. Since I only have one Intel machine. Guess my Mac mini Media/Backup Server will have to stick with Leopard.

Big reaction just then, Leo thinks he just said AT&T isn't supporting tethering. :lol :lol

From Ars too:

Jacqui Cheng: Lots of carriers supporting tethering but not AT&T (everyone is very loud about this)
