WWDC10 Thread of iPhones and iProducts galore

Uh.. but it's the 4th iPhone. What's the issue?
Don't think it is creative. They should have called it the iPhone A4...means something a bit more...just my opinion and personal preference. I'll be getting one, regardless.

I could see free versions of apps having ads, then if you pay for the full version... no ads.

I still don't see the big deal. Full room video conferencing? Works well. Single phone video chat? Not so awesome.

I have a video phone at work and, honestly, I generally prefer to talk without the camera.

enough people use video calling on skype with parents on business trips, kids moved away, etc.

iPhone 4 is the perfect name for mainstream consumers and it gets them out of trouble the 3G put them in.

Glad they did it.

AFAIK "4G" is a marketing term (at the moment)...there are no official specs for "4G" or they have not been finalized...correct?

4G implies very fast wireless technology. There are different variations of WiMax and LTE, but either way, it's just a word for "much faster than 3G" as of right now.

I was hoping they would show the iSlate thing already.. ugh, good show and all but so far nothing REALLY 'new' tbh. Thanks a ton Gizmodo. :lol

11:27AM "So now we've got this cool navigator on the bottom. It spins the car. The only way you'll be able to get one of these is through this ad on the iPhone. So if you want to get a Leaf you need to get an iPhone..."

steve jobs getting desperate?

why do people want video calls? what is this the future?

Seeing someone you haven't in a while, showing someone what you did in a group project, showing a car you might buy or a shirt while you're out, the possibilities are endless.

"I know you said you wanted me to pick up that black BBQ grill, but they're out. Is this one ok?"

What's bad about this?

accidentally clicking an ad will load a full screen video

great
Would you rather it closed the app entirely and opened a browser?

iAds isn't a bad thing...it's just not exciting for consumers.

Developers conference, remember.

thats not true though.

If iAds means you can use apps for free and watch ads instead of paying for them, then that's great. That means you can try and use apps for free that you're just a little bit interested in, and then pay for the ones you really want and get rid of the ads. Sweet!

How can anyone claim that the iphone and ipad are not threats to the handheld consoles like the DS and PSP?

For a segment of the market, obviously it is. However there is a host of genres that will simply never play as well due to the lack of dedicated input.

Perfect? Sensible, but not perfect. Yeah, it makes sense but I would have sold the fact there is something special about it like they have in the past:

2007 - iPhone - iPhone

2008 - iPhone 3G - iPhone with 3G

2009 - iPhone 3Gs - iPhone with 3G with a speed boost

2010 - iPhone 4 - The 4th iPhone....

Well, this is a presentation for developers. They seem to like making money sometimes.
So Elements developer can make in 5 years what he made in one week of direct sales on iPad?
