X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Debut

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about things like when an actual backstory is revealed about a character and it doesn't fit with the comics, such as Nightcrawler not being Mystique's kid, I don't have this preconceived notion of what his backstory is supposed to be.

I'm not talking about when a movie straight up doesn't give us a character's backstory.

Sadly for you, that's what we are talking about.

god this looks fucking dumb. Watch them one-off another great Marvel villain in a single movie and still feel like it runs way too long. These effects hahaha.

1. Are we really calling Apocalypse a great Marvel villain now?
2. Do the X-Men movies have a reputation for killing off their villains? I'd argue the opposite, actually.

Apocalypse is a great villain. Virtually every X comic crossover worth a damn included him as an important figure.

His depiction in this movie is a disgrace.

Well since you haven't...you know...watched the movie yet, I'll assume by depiction you are strictly talking about his costume. He only had a few lines in this trailer, cookie cutter megalomaniac villain type stuff. But I think writing off him as being a disgrace to the character is a leap.

I've never found him that interesting, personally. I'd take a Cassandra Nova over Apocalypse. I definitely agree that he has been in some good storylines, but he has never been the compelling aspect of those stories for me.

Now we're talking!

I still maintain that First Class was the better of the two soft reboots. It was just more focused and had several very poignant moments that the series isn't typically known for. With that said, I'm still hopeful that this one can return to the more focused plot of FC, rather than the overly convoluted and character-heavy sequel DOFP.

I would love to see FOX explain that backstory.

"So, basically, when Xavier was in the womb, he had a twin and killed her. This became his evil psychic ghost twin who somehow got her own body and manifested it. The Shi'ar (a race of bird-like aliens) believe that everyone has this, and that the person who you kill is the opposite personality of you. Cassandra Nova is Xavier's evil ghost twin. Also she has psychic powers like Xavier, and other weird psychic ghost powers that only a weird psychic ghost would have."

Forget the comics.

We are now suppose to take Mystique as a battle harden commander?

Nothing in the previous movies supports that

"Does it come in black leather?"

We haven't seen Cain yet, either. Or, you know, the X-Men. But the way comic movies are going, they're going to continue past J-Law and Fassbender. I'm already ready for the movie after this one.

trailer sucked

and the big FINAL reveal being BALD JAMES MCAVOY is fucking hilarious

im still excited for the film and it'll probably be good being Singer and all but that trailer was super underwhelming

"She then possessed Xavier and managed to get a gigantic Sentinel factory to nuke Genosha, killing over 6000000 mutants."
Comic books are fucking crazy. I can read manga and watch anime, but comics...I just can't put my time into comics. The gaf recaps are good enough. I like the movies though for the most part.

Oh, and the-
BK don't say anything about the nanosentinnals.
-never mind. Nothing else happened. That is all

Apocalypse is just the ultimate jobber.

Give us Apocangel or the Apocalypse twins.
We need En Sabah Nur to job in order to set up for the other stuff, though.

Stop shoving Jennifer Lawrence down our throats, geez.

I'm not a fan of her in these movies. I love Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) from the original X-Men movies. Jennifer Lawrence just doesn't have the same presence as the original Mystique.

The Orb gave me a great Spidey/Wolverine story.

Paste Pot Pete at least knows he's trash.

Damn I swore I was the only one that read that. Intersting how Peter uses his time to become the greatest mind on earth, Wolverine uses his time to run around naked.

-according to bryan singer, mystique "rescued" nightcrawler and he is comic relief, so he's probably not her son. that annoys me if it's true.
-probably because she's jlaw.
-no idea
-i think it has to do with jlaw again, not too comfortable with the suit she has to wear.
-no idea

I want to punch something or someone real hard right now
