You thought MOS had 9/11 imagery?
Singer is about to bring down THE ACTUAL TWIN TOWERS

I remember thinking "Damn it, Logan" when he started attacking Peter for bringing him back from the dead.Damn I swore I was the only one that read that. Intersting how Peter uses his time to become the greatest mind on earth, Wolverine uses his time to run around naked.

But at the end, they were the most amazing bros.
Rogue is a really odd character to cite there; she had the most development of anyone in the first movie other than Logan. Please watch X-Men 1 and come back and tell me something about Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Jean, Sabretooth, Toad, or Mystique other than what their powers are.

Yeah.
That tree, man
Paste Pot Pete?
Um, excuse me, you will refer to him by his true name, The Trapster.Paste Pot Pete at least knows he's trash.
Well, alright, since you asked:Please do, comic book recaps are my favorite parts of gaf. There's always so much surreal insanity in them.
Oh sure, they did research into Apocalypse, of all characters.Oscar Isaac Talks Comic Book Inspiration And More For X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
As for what's inspired his take on Apocalypse, it sounds like there will be something for everyone:
"Depends which comic you are talking about. There’s X-Factor, there’s X-Men, there’s The Age of Apocalypse, there’s the animated series, there’s X-Men: Evolution, so when someone says Apocalypse without referring a comic book, it’s a very general question. They may want to state which is their Apocalypse first. He’s definitely not going to be everyone’s favorite version of Apocalypse, but he’s my favorite version of Apocalypse. It’s something from the 80s mixed in with something new. They either create a backstory that he was this mutant from Ancient Egypt that found this technology and they explore that story or they send him to another universe where he’s more powerful than he’s ever been. He’s turned all these other X-Men into villains. There are different ways that artists and creative people get the chance to explore his story on a massive scale if they do. In this one, Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg took the inspiration from many different sources, many different versions of Apocalypse throughout the ages and found the one that we thought was the most interesting."

Then the last panel jeez. When Peter and Logan exchange looks when Sara doesn't remember him.
This is like some Lelouch Vi Britannia shit.Well, alright, since you asked:
Basically, Nova was weaponizing sentinel tech long before she took possession of Xavier. At some point (most likely during a mission in which Cyclops and Wolverine found her at the aforementioned sentinel factory) she infected the X-Men with a flu virus. This virus became more and more potent, with Beast unable to find some kind of cure. He then finds out, right as Nova (posing as Xavier) sends the Shi'ar Imperial Guard (whom are for the most part super kickass) to attack the Xavier school, which just happens to be having a giant press conference, since Nova (still posing) just outed the school as a mutant institution. Hank then finds out that this flu is actually a bunch of nanosentinels that are slowly killing mutants.
I can't recall how they get shut off, but I think it might have been either Jean re-manifesting the Phoenix or Beast finding a cure. Either way, Nova had the X-team on lock.
Oh, and later the nanosentinels are reused by Dark Beast, who is Beast from the Age of Apocalypse, attempting to murder Scott, Emma, Magik, and Magneto. Then he died. It was lame.
This is like some Lelouch Vi Britannia shit.
What story are you two talking about? Synopsis? Then the last panel jeez.
Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine it was a team up mini series from a few years back, lots of time travel and stuff a lot of fun to read. What story are you two talking about? Synopsis?
I think people forget Kitty can ice almost anyone with little issue.
Apocalypse is a great villain. Virtually every X comic crossover worth a damn included him as an important figure.
His depiction in this movie is a disgrace.

"One of Apocalypse’s many powers is he can imbue other mutants with greater ones,” says director Bryan Singer. Case in point: In the concept art image (above), Singer says, “Magneto is demonstrating a small taste of what he can do now. Magneto is already enormously powerful…. Now Apocalypse gives him powers far beyond what we’ve seen before.”
That 75 things bullet point list is awesome. Some really good info in there that clears up a lot of questions fans had at the end of DoFP. Also, a new telling of the Phoenix Saga is still on the table (complete with space travel!)From the X-Men: Apocalypse Set (ComingSoon.net)
