A lot of exposed, vulnerable parts, but will wait to see how it plays on screen. Also, I'm assuming this is one of the earlier designs.

I don't understand why people want them bigger than this, though...looks sizable enough as it is, and about the same size as most Sentinels have been. Do love the purple....

The Mark 5 is the future version, so yeah, these are probably the 80s version.

Shorten the legs a bit and hide all the wires and stuff and it will be 9/10. Right now it is more like 7/10.

I'm curious how they'll use that jet engine in the chest to fly...

I honestly never thought I'd see the day when we'd get actual Sentinels in a live action X-Men movie... I fucking love being alive in this time period.

Asides from a few cool Magneto scenes, I didn't think FC was as good as the first two movies. X2 is by far the best X-movies. Nightcrawler's intro, Wolverine finally sinking his claws into someone (couldn't tell you how pumped I was in the theater when I first saw this), Colossus reveal, and just everything about the movie in general I liked. The only scene I could really recall from FC that's positive is Eric's bar scene. I remember more of January Jone's bad acting and JLaw's terrible delivery of "We're mutants and we're proud" bs.

X2 >>>X1>>FC>>>>The Wolverine>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Woverine:Orgins/X3.

Crazed, psychotic Wolverine during the mansion attack in X2 was awesomely intense. It's the only time in the original trilogy you get to see him really go into a berserker rage.

SNTL 2

Eww I dunno about the purple. The all black look was looking more menacing.

I like both.... purple has a slightly advantage because I love purple and it is closer to original design

But who am I to say, I loved robocop all black redesign =P

Pretty sure that legs looking enormous is because of perspective

I just got through watching X-Men: First Class (my first rewatch since it was in theaters), and it is a LARGE step above both the original two X-Men movies and The Wolverine (I won't even mention the others). Am I the only one a little concerned now that Bryan Singer is directing this over Mathew Vaughn? First Class outclassed Singer's work in almost every single way.
lol

I expect big fire fights against the sentinels but I also hope we get tense set pieces where a few characters need to hide and use stealth.

James Marsden on Cyclops:

And X-Men: Days of Future Past next year, or no? I mean, Cyclops was disintegrated, but if there's time travel ...
No, no X-Men, unfortunately. But who knows? If this next film really works, Bryan [Singer] has said he wants to fix a few things, so hopefully that's one of them. It was great, to have a movie like that, the first two or three X-Men, and the studios in Hollywood work really hard to find a formula that's successful, and you want to keep that intact, so ...

Lol Singer is totally going to write Last Stand out of canon and I will love it.

I'm really excited for DoFP and so stoked they are bring back most of the cast (sad about no Cyclops and possibly no Jean, Famke Janssen will be missed). I only wish they had re-cast my favorite X-men Storm. Halle Berry never did justice to her character.

and I know that most people hate X3, but I like it

X2 = First Class > The Wolverine > X3 > X1 > Origins

As much as I like First Class, it's not in the same leauge as X2. Everything just worked so well in X2. Even Storm was pretty bearable, dispite Halle's shitty acting. First Class was fantastic anytime Xavier/Mags/Shaw was on the screen. There was just so many cringe moments, all the kids sucked, sure, but man how did that powers/naming party scene get put through. It's just so bad. You can tell that movie was rushed, it's pretty uneven.

X2 is awesome throughout. I really loved the politics at play. Singer really nailed a lot of quieter moments. From great exchanges with Mystique/Nightcrawler, Mag/Pyro, Stryker/Xavier, even Iceman/Wolveriene share a great moment.

You guys already mentioned a lot of great scenes, so I'll post one of my personal favourites. I remember being pumped at this scene in the theatres. It's the dialogue that makes it. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YbYwjFWHbtU

I don't know what for. Singer had nothing for Cyclops to do really outside the first movie. It's obvious Singer doesn't like Cyclops and only has a hard on for Wolverine.

Anyone know is Jean Grey is gonna be making a return or not?

Saw The Wolverine and it really seems that they want to keep her in the mind of viewers.

Would be nice to see her given another chance after what happened in ... X3 :/

This is exactly how I feel. I really like First Class, but I think that if it focused more on Magneto and his relationship with Xavier, it would have been a lot better. One thing I liked about X2 is that pretty much every mutant who speaks gets to show off their powers. They had more depth to them where in First Class, they seem to be pretty one-dimensional aside from Xavier, Magneto, and Mystique. I did like Hank's transformation in First Class, however.

Oh yeah whens Mahvel!?

I thought in the comics he wasn't disintegrated but put into a protective bubble or some shit to protect him from what was coming? Am I making this up?

The theory is that some time-travelling character snatched him seconds before he was completely smoked. Thus explaining why there's no traces of him in X2.

With the desc for the Sentinels mentioning "magnetic shielding" I'm starting to wonder if the clear acrylic shells will be enhanced with VFX. Maybe they're part of a force field system to bounce back mutant powers.

I'm sorry but the sentinel in the comics looks way better than what I'm seeing here. It's kindof....lame looking to be honest. Like the purple though!

something like this would be nice:

Its First Class > X2 > X1 > Wolverine Origins >>>> X3

I haven't seen the Wolverine yet.

Best scene for me is the coin scene where Fassbender bodies Kevin Bacon.

The music the coin slowing go through his head and cutting to McAvoy screaming as they pan across his head.

With the fucking badass Magneto theme is best scene in any X-men in my eye. Kept watching and giggling like a little boy.

Fuck I love being a nerd.

Seems to love Xavier and Mags as well.

But when you've got Stewart and McKellan at your beck and call you use them as much as possible.

not sure if want.

Just watched the first x-men movie again this evening. It really hasn't aged very well. Some cheesey lines. Bad acting. Dodgy special effects and fight scenes that wouldn't look out of place in some syfy TV movie clone.
Would love to see a reboot of the series, in the hands of marvel.
Also saw first class for the second time as well and that too hasn't aged very well either.

Singer is capable, but I'm still a little cautious.

Yup and First Class wasnt that great either, Singer's output (except for one movie) has been terribad.

Xmen 2 pretty much kills the first in the every single way though. Singer is very capable.

I don't feel an appreciable difference between Matthew Vaughn and Brian Singer. They both put out solid X-Men movies. I put X2 and FC neck and neck. Both are a good bit better than X-Men. I like The Last Stand, but it's less than the first movie, just all kinds of wasted potential. Haven't seen Origins, and am in no hurry to do so.
