i haven't watched X1 & 2 in a while, but wasn't Prof X aware of Wolverine prior to X1

I thought he knew something about Akali lake and Stryker?
One of Xavier's first exchanges with Logan is "It's been 15 years..." or something like that.

It sounds like Xavier knew of him but the story doesn't play on that. He probably just forgot their meeting in First Class. :P

Also: Stryker wanted Xavier to cure his son but that wasn't what the school was for.

If I remember right, Alan Cummings just didn't want to come back for another movie.

He was Nightcrawler right?

Man, I thought he nailed the role. That White House ambush scene made like all my friends Nightcrawler fans around the time. Did he hate the makeup process? Lol.

no im pretty sure the 15 years is referring to how long wolverine has been looking for what happened to him (Memory loss after the x project?)

But thats what i always thought it was.

Yes, that's what he's referring too. However, I'm assuming that Xavier knew details about Logan without actually reading his mind.

So Prof. X already knew Wolverine at the beginning of XMen 1?

Different timeline. By going back in time Wolverine changes things creating an alternative future.

In X2 Magneto reveal to Wolverine that Stryker put adamantium on his bones and that Xavier knew that but wanted Wolverine to discover it on his own.

After watching X1 and X2 yesterday I was kind of glad The Wolverine was a bit simpler.

Still, I wish the X-Men films were a bit "smaller" in their grand scheme stuff.

X1: Make all Humans Mutants!
X2: Kill all the Mutants / Kill all the Humans
X3: Make all the Mutants Humans!
The Wolverine: Make Me a Mutant!

So much of it is about adding or removing powers, when I wish it was more "We're here, and we're dealing with it" instead of a "cure" for one or the other.

Hopefully DOFP is more what I want, even if the "kill all mutants" is Robots instead of concentrating too much.

I'm glad I'm not the only who thought First Class was boring/corny as fuck and Vaughn's worst film. Fassbender aside, I don't need to see anything from that movie ever again.

McAvoy was pretty good as well. I would have been fine with dumping everyone from first class in this movie except those two

All we need is them and wolverine for the past. Mystique and beast are gonna drag this down

I agree with your post, except for the underlined. I maintain that First Class is one of Fass' rare bad performances (outside of the Nazi bar scene). Don't know whether I should blame the script or the direction or what, but Fass was not good in First Class.

Go watch that scene of him trying to move the satellite or his scene on the beach toward the end or *goes on*.

I haven't really been following this movie... but why are original trilogy cast members returning? I thought first class was a reboot, and a pretty decent one at that... why fuck it all up by bringing back the old cast.

It was a reboot but also a prequel of sorts. This movie will involve time travel, and is also bringing back the director of the first two films in the original trilogy. Naturally it would make sense to have the 'modern x-men' coordinate with the earlier version used in the prequel. The chance for massive fan service was too good to pass up, basically. And it's pretty damn cool.

I honestly though First Class was a great film. Fassbender and Macavoy were brilliant, the action scenes were decent and the music - well, Magneto's theme is just epic. I don't get the hate for it.

He wasn't in Kick-Ass?

You're thinking of the Avengers version of Quicksilver. Who is supposedly being played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson (The one in the middle).

Actually 2/3 of those dudes are playing Quiksliver. Isn't it hilarious.
I actually couldn't care less which of them is which in which studio
