I really don't like the Xbox's extreme tendencies towards green. I never had a problem with the color myself... but this is TOO much. And now I'll have an entire section in my gaming shelves dedicated to the color, sadly. Ahh well! :D

Do they give or sell food? It would suck to have to pay crack prices for a goddamned cheeseburger in the middle of the desert.

For those of you with Dew360's, there is a special "Xbox Inner Circle - Xbox 360: Zero Hour Gamer Picture Pack" now available in the Xbox Live Marketplace.

"Show the world you were at the biggest launch party of the year, Xbox360: Zero Hour!", it says. It's a collection of Zero Hour-themed gamer pictures.

Somehow, it's actually free. And I'm presuming it'll go away before Tuesday. Snag it while you can -- that is, if you believe a collection of pixels can define your self worth. I do.

Looks like there are a good amount of people there, but I really want to know the ratio of tickets sent out : people who showed up.

no joke. No offense, Im allready going to get murdered at work for calling in sick the two days before thanksgiving. No way in hell I could have tried to swing the entire thanksgiving week off.

Microsoft sure does love green, especially when its in massive forms of American currency.

Anyway, heres some more pics of teh ZERO HOUR (From: *ITMEDIA*) !!

Hint, It was in pasadena :)

The green pictures remind me of that scene in Natural Born Killers where they're in the drugstore and poisoned by snakes.

Aww, I was expecting a big bonfire in the middle of the desert with nerds dancing around a giant xbox 360 logo.

How decieving, you drive over to this stylized badass looking club in the middle of the desert with neon lights, loud music, and some cool looking igloo thing. You walk in and it's a cockfest total, wiener am cry :(

SO the quick little xbox.com video feature on this showed Dead Rising playable...so I officially hate everyone there now....

FUCKERS!

So if I drive down to Palmdale (40 mins from my house) can I buy a 360 right now?

Is this event 24/7 until launch?

The event goes until launch, but I don't think you'll be able to get in without a ticket.

But but....Zero Hour faceplate???

I just got home from palmdale and I live in pasadena. I wish it had been here tho :) I asked about the face place since I cant return tomorrow. I was informed that they will be mailed out to the people who got invites in two to three weeks. I did get a hoodie and memory card :D I could have gotten three months of live for free, but Im not buying a machine so I didn't sign up.

Food and drinks were available for sale, not too overpriced. Not cheap but not total rapage eithter. Then again, I live in LA so everything is expensive :P I ate before. They had beer/wine.

ANy idea what they look like?

So I just got back from the Xbox 360 Zero Hour event.

First they had everybody standing outside from noon-5pm until they allowed people to walk around just outside the Hangar. Handed out free Memory card units and Hoodies. Served expensive alcohol and food -_-
So they announced they would open the Hangar 2 hours later (7pm)

Ok skipping all the specifics. I'll talk about what I saw on Gears of War

They had this game playing on the best screen and sound system in the Hangar.
To me the game looks like a mix of Halo meets Killswitch (NOT KILLZONE)
The entire game is in 3rd person view er I believe the guy referred to it as 2nd person since the camera is kind of to the side behind the player. From the questions asked after the demo, there will be no flashlight. All the lighting in the game will come from the surroundings (fire burning, lightning, lamps, gunshots, etc.)
The first level was pretty crazy since it required the player to stay in light to avoid what they called (locusts). The demo guy playing did some Killswitch action by covering behind a wall and doing some blind shooting with his weapon. Pretty crazy.
He then ran over to some Gas valve to release some gasoline onto the street. Which he later fired at to burn and blow up a nearby vehicle. Best part.

He then went into the 2nd demo where you can really see the graphics at work. Everything from Rain and lightning affects were great. They have this great camera mode which is still gameplay which goes into what the person called "CNN cam" for those of you not familiar, its a realistic camera movement while the person is running so its all shaky like in war movies. Pretty cool. He then breaks into some room (the guy explained there are about 8 different ways to enter a room from behind a door) where you see a dead body and enemies which he does all the action. They end up getting on some carts smilar to the ones they have in mining caves. Then thats were the demo ends.

Some questions the audience asked were.

1. Will there be mulitplayer? Yes
2. Co-op on Live? Yes
3. Flashlights? No
4. Was the game using (im not familiar but im sure you guys are I forgot) all of the system (something like that)? The guy said its using only 1 something but yeah the game was running great at just mnimum power.
5. Will there be a Hud (there was none in the demo)? They said theyre working on keeping as little crap on screen as possible to make it look more cinematic.

Thats about all I remember on Gears of War for now. I'm sure within a week everyone will see the video footage since there were tons of people recording with a cam-corder.

Sorry but you might be out of luck on that 0-hour face plate thing.
Not sure if you stuck around late enough (10pm) they had a table where you gave them your name and address so they could mail the faceplates to you. Who knows, maybe they will maybe not.

Thanks for reminding me. I forgot to play that one.

Also adding to my post.
The playable Non-launch games were:
Gears of War
Nighty Nine Nights (dynasty warriors to me)
Dead Rising
DOA4
Full Auto
and...possibly other games I don't remember.

There's nothing like snacking tickets in the middle of the desert!
