Wrong, after showing the demo on screen. They let people play the demo onstage. Guess you didn't stick around for that.
I guess not. I thought the demo was fairly underwhelming, so I didn't see the point - already saw the pretty graphics, anyway.
I want to slap someone for this "launch window = 1 year after release" nonsense, too.

Look me up if you stick around after noon or at night, I wouldn't mind meeting some of the GAF folks. Try a few Staff folks or I really kind of look like my avatar pic.
Hey, I asked around for you but I guess I asked the wrong people...I left the event this afternoon and returned around 6ish, but the people I asked at the Xbox Live account management booth didn't know who you were...I had to find my friends who were already in the ever-growing line to pick up the machines, so I couldn't ask around any further...
More random thoughts:
After playing the Full Auto demo, I think that had it come out at system launch, it would have been the Xbox 360's SSX...in that it is a new IP that is very well executed and is quite a lot of fun - lots of potential there. I think I'm definitely buying it when it comes out, based on the strength of their demo.
I saw the Outfit there. Sorry Bish, it didn't do anything for me - felt like a 3rd person Battlefield, only not as good

Was the build at Zero Hour a fairly old build?
Amped 3 is not as bad as I thought. It's not a great game, but it's a solid game that reminds me a lot of Cool Boarders.
Perfect Dark Zero has some seriously crap level design. Even with the arrows to guide you, my friend and I managed to get completely stuck on one level...without the arrows, it's just difficult to figure out where to go, but when they lead you to a dead end and leave you there, now that's just crap. (It is possible I just missed an audio cue - it was kinda noisy there...) The game is also seriously ugly now that I've seen it live...just because you CAN make something shiny doesn't mean you should. Even a wooden bridge was highly reflective...yuck. As far as gameplay, it seems competent so far...
I don't think they sold out of Xboxes at Zero Hour - that's just a hunch, though. I didn't stick around til midnight...I, like 99% of everyone else there, bailed as soon as we got our Xboxes.
Of course, I wasn't lucky enough to actually get a WORKING Xbox

Mine has a dead HDD, but at least I can play without it until I can get it replaced (good thing we got memory cards at Zero Hour...)
