XB1 Elite Controller ($150)

I'll still pick up a Steam controller as it has the potential for a lot more configs but this might end up being the best analog-based controller of all time with Pinnacle and Xpadder profiles.

Apparently it has an Xbox One app that you can use to customize it further

Well, it's in the OP but here's a picture

Hey MS, let us adjust on a per-game basis. Please?

Woah.

I thought I was fine with my 360 controller on PC, but this thing looks fucking amazing. I'm much more excited about this than the Valve controller.

Ugh thought I was leaving gaming for while. Microsoft impressed me today. Put me down for about two of these bad boys. Sigh, oh well back to it I guess.

Any way to get mouse stuff going like with the DS4 or Steam Controller?

This is essential sometimes. Even Steam Big Picture freaks out and I need to use a mouse to dislodge the UI from a buggy place.

Looks really good and I totally missed the configurable D-Pad in the presentation, but I do kinda hope they've modified the ergonomics of the triggers as it's probably the only thing for me personally where I much prefer the 360 pad. Pricing might be an issue, but I could really see myself buying one.

I'd rather get a new controller every 5-10 years and have the convenience of micro USB charging. That's just my preference, though.

You can just buy the rechargeable battery packs and have the best of both worlds.

I hope this controller has an easily accessible standard-type battery pack. I prefer just swapping out a fresh charged battery in two seconds to leaving something plugged in.

It's bad on my PS3 when my controller is dying at the same time I want to turn off my system. I either leave my system on so my controller can charge or I leave my controller half-dead on the table so I can use it with a cord next time I boot up.

Can I just keep it plugged into my pc via usb port until the end of time without having to worry about batteries or wireless connections? If not, then my failing 360 wired controller is still king.

the xbox one controller works without batteries if it's wired.

Look for Controller Companion on Steam, works really great.

So if the original Xbone controller cost MS millions upon millions to create how much did this cost them

Now it makes sense why they changed from USB to wireless firmware updates for the new controllers. I've only updated my controller firmware twice, so it seemed odd that they made that a priority, as it was easy to just plug it in once every 12 months or whatever, but with button mapping it would be a pain to have to plug it in for every change you made.

Didn't give a shit what they spent on the other controller, don't give a shit what they spent on this one. As a gamer all I care about is that they keep making the best controllers.

I hope the paddles aren't just connected to the same contacts as ABXY. Can we map the paddles independently or are they physically tied to the ABXY mappings?
