XB1 Elite Controller ($150)

Awesome ordered from amazon June 15th (I think thats right when they went up) and it still says arriving tomorrow by 8 pm (not yet shipped) hasn't even begun preparing :\ I know I live close to amazon warehouses, but wtf ugh

edit- nice... finally changed to preparing to shipment, phew.

They did but I think there's a LOT more demand for these things than they expected.

I expect this controller to sell in great volumes in the next few years, especially when it starts getting price cuts.
 
i can't believe this controller will last more than 2 years of heavy use..

my fightstick TE well that controller is made to last years.
can't wait for the real reports on this so called PRO thing

I anticipate the weakest link being where the joystick mechanism meats the PCB. No tear downs or anything to base this off; just a hunch.

It will be neat to see the teardowns and analysis of the build quality in the upcoming months.

I truly hope for a more robust PCB and some grade A soldering.
 
Damn, I pre-ordered on June 15th and Amazon says it will be delivered between Friday and next Tuesday...seems like it's random when they will be sent out (I'm in Pennsylvania btw).
 
I just got am email saying I had another parcel delivered to my office reception... after picking up the Elite controller earlier, have amazon sent me another one?

It is in Amazon box.

It looks the right size and feels the right weight...

Well, it was this - didn't expect it so soon as I bought from eBay USA on Friday. But they obviously shipped from their UK Amazon store, where it was available also - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1000640&highlight=collective+minds

This is what i'm waiting on, a teardown to see what the $150 goes to. I'm willing to bet that it uses the same plastic brackets for the thumbsticks. I'm also hoping that the new sticks are more sturdy than the wobbly normal ones that shift all the time.
 
Site I ordered from had it for 27-10, then quietly moved it forward toward 28-10. Yeah, I think this could take a while. Bleh.

Why people think this is going to get price cuts? not only this are been manufacture in low volumes, accessories dont get price cut.
 
Best Buy just shipped mine's out!

No delivery estimate from UPS just yet, but I really hope it arrives tomorrow or Wednesday.

It seems to be bleeding over into some less hardcore niches though. I saw Nilay Patel of The Verge tweet that he was going to get one and I don't think his market status is sufficiently represented in either 'NeoGAF hardcore' or 'Pro Gamer' segments.


Like others have surmised in this thread multiple times, people with disposable income that desire having the highest quality are going to be attracted to this, even if they'll never end up using all its features.

I think MS was caught unaware of how popular this thing would be.

I don't think it will get price cuts, at least not any time soon. While there's demand for it at the current price it won't happen.

Eventually it probably will, like in a year or so. Accessories don't normally get price cuts but this is a little different. At it current price tag, with significant demand, there is room for a price cut, eventually.

Of course there's always flash sales on things from time to time too like Black Friday etc.
 
NOOOOOOOOOOO! Even though the MS store said they still had stock when I placed my order, I just spoke to them and I have to now wait til they next have more in stock. Pretty poor really, I could have ordered from elsewhere had they initially said it was out of stock.

Not happy with MS right now.

Yeah not sure what the deal with that is. You'd think since the Xbox version is ready that the Windows one would be too. Might be because they're going to allow more options or something.

That sucks. The OT will have a section for store links and availability so be sure to check there.
 
This thread makes me scared about walking into Best Buy tomorrow and picking one up. Initially I didn't think Stock was going to be an issue.

Not defending MS and I certainly feel your pain but race conditions in online transaction is a real problem everywhere for highly sought-after products like this. I wish there was a better real-time solution in place at all online retailers to address it but it seems like the extra orders they pull in is still worth more than the disgruntle customers they create :(

When did you order? I don't understand how MS themselves have supply issues, maybe they shorted their allotment and gave more to Amazon etc....
 
To get it or not is the question. I don't play too much, and my eyesight and reflexes are too slow to keep up with the teens these days. I was planning on getting the Chief controller tomorrow, but just something about the Elite draws me in. The quality build, the materials, etc.

I wonder if I should just say screw it and pick one up.

I don't have a status update on my order but my card was charged so I'm sure it's going to show. No charge for you yet?
 
Just a heads up tip. I called Sears and asked if they would have the Xbox One elite controller in and the sales associate said yes and it is on sale for $125. I pre-ordered over the phone and can pick it up tomorrow. Maybe you guys will have the same luck.

Same. Someone mentioned that MS store is bad about updating their shipment status, so there's still hope, but I'm definitely a bit turned off by the whole thing. We can suffer together though.
 
Got an email early this morning from Best Buy saying mine will be available for pick up tomorrow. Hopefully they'll let me pick it up during the midnight opening for Halo 5.
 
Got mines earlier today from Gamestop UK and I really love it so far. It feels great and like the impressions have mentioned, it just feels premium. Only used it to play some AC: Syndicate so far, but looking forward to trying it out with some other games and messing around with the different configurations later.

Arrived just in time for Halo 5 tomorrow so I'm happy.
 
MS store gave me a tracking number this morning. It's not updated in the UPS system but I expect it tomorrow. This is the last xbone controller I am ever buying, hope it's worth it.
 
Yes! My Best Buy order's tracking info just updated and even though it wasn't shopped until today, I'm still supposed to get it tomorrow. So pumped!

Pretty sure that I saw one controllers on sale for 37.99 last week.

Also pretty sure that the regular price for a 360 controller is now about $35, when it used to be about $50.

Nice! I'm going to have almost a full 24 hours with Halo 5 before being able to switch to the Elite. I anticipate the transition will not be pretty.

I'm sad I won't be able to play at Midnight, but glad I'll be able to start fresh with the Elite controller. Can't wait to not have to use the face buttons! :-D
