XB1 Elite Controller ($150)

This was a good idea, or at least I wondered why nobody tried to go into the premium controller market. Although $150 is crazy town, like $100 MSRP would have been the right spot. Is it right that there's no rechargeable battery too? Way to ruin that one MS.

So just to clarify, this is a different pad from the one they fixed the bumpers on and added a 3.5 mm jack to, right? Or is this the only version that got those fixes?

$150?

Why would I want a rechargeable battery? I want to use my eneloops. If you want rechargeable, but the play and charge kit. Choice is better than no choice.

Was about to comment on it still not having a rechargeable or at least not including one you can swap into it, especially for $150.

*Sees people defending this.*

Nope. Not gonna do it.

Sure, it's expensive, if that's confirmed, but if it's good quality, you're only going to have to buy one.
I'm in.

It looks good, but not $150 good. Sticking with DS4 for PC.
Hell, that's how much I paid for my mechanical keyboard and Logitech G502 mouse. That's insane.

I go through at least two controllers a year, so I'm not totally against the idea of paying $150 if it's built to last.

I need to see what that analog stick controller module looks like. If it's the same one in the standard controller, then hell no. But if it uses metal parts, then yeah, I'm in.

$150 is a lot but if it doesn't get stick drift after a year or two I'd consider one. All my 360 controllers ended up with horrible stick drift/spongy feeling analog sticks.

Was so intrigued by this, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand $150 killed it.

Exactly. Cost about half as much as the damn system.

I like a new controller with new functionality. I preordered the Steam controller day 1. But that was a reasonable $60.

This controller will sell like garbage until it's put on sale and then people will flock to it.

The controller is only for the hardest of hardcore gamers.

SCUF pads are pretty common these days in the COD scene, pretty sure they are even used at MLG tournaments and the like. The original X1 pad is good enough, this Elite version is for gamers who aren't just casually playing but are competitive.

I'm no "elite" player, but I play Destiny probably 10 hours a week and am pretty competitive. I feel like I'm definitely in the demo for this, but I won't be picking these up until the price drops or they go on sale somewhere. Base controller MSRP is $60, but they frequently go on sale for $30. Can't justify spending 5x that...

Good shit for those who got in on Amazon.ca's price mistake. This is a good buy at $90.
