No, but I'm sure if people make enough noise Microsoft would consider it. At $150 I would like it even if I don't plan to use it on my PC right away.
At the price of $150 it should be included since it is after all a wireless controller for Windows as well.
Ok, I guess I wasn't quick enough then.
They're not going to include it. Why? Because at $150 the controller is still cheaper than all other third party custom shops with less features.

As an old southpaw player this controller is a dream come true.
Nowadays developers are often kind to include the option to swap the sticks around, but they fail to add an adequate button-configuration to go with that.
Hint to all developers, if you give me the option to swap sticks and play southpaw, you really think I wanna jump with the same finger I use to walk forward? =/
If its not jump, its melee, crouch or something else that is awkwardly placed.
I have an CronusMAX to take care of that problem, but the Elite controller is exactly what I've been dreaming of since forever.

This and the fact that I had a bunch of best buy credit made me preorder. Halo 5, in particular has an awkward control scheme for a regular controller (especially with both thrust and jump).

I think I'll end up getting this even though the price is ridiculous. I've got about $120 in Amazon credit, so may as well. Eager for an official release date.. Amazon has Oct 31 labelled but I think that's just temporary.

Placeholder date. I'd imagine that they'll want to get this thing out before halo 5.... I hope.
Bumper Jumper is something of a mess which I don't want so this controller will hopefully fix that.
Bumper is the only way to play Halo. Always was and will be that way.
That said of course in Halo 5 the thrust gets put on X which is a bit awkward considering how often it is used. And here we go Elite. Paddle on X and bam.

absolutely, it's going to be so interesting seeing this vs people using normal controllers.
I can absolutely imagine this controller in the hands of someone who knows how to play Halo will be an absolute tool of destruction.

Having had a play around with this controller at gamescom I'm 100% getting one now regardless of price, its awesome! Also got given a gears themed d-pad for it for trying it out haha so I'll chuck that on mine when I get it!

Do you guys think there might be a shortage, either artificial or real, that makes getting this controller difficult? Basically will it be perpetually available like an Nvidia Shield, or will this be the 'rare amiibo' of controllers in terms of availability?

I'd imagine that there'll be plenty of stock over time. This is something Microsoft would want to sell many units of.
Edit: just checked both the US and UK amazons. Both are available for preorder. The UK one was out of stock last week. Not sure if this really means much though.

Just received an email from Amazon updating my order with a delivery date of November 2nd - November 6th.

If it turns out to be the 27th then I'll likely try to find one locally and cancel my order afterwards. I'm anal about getting something after it releases, lol
I guess I should've noted that I did free shipping so I assume that makes up for the difference in dates

The trigger settings alone are going to be a huge advantage, right? I mean in Halo if I'm shooting and the trigger only has to travel 10% to shoot, vs. some standard controller guy, you're going to get a couple more shots off during a shootout. As they are getting to their second volley of BR rounds, I'm hitting him with my 3rd/4th.
I predict a major backlash between Elites and standards where elites are forced underground....the mechanical apartheid is truly upon us
