XB1 Elite Controller ($150)

I don't want to post a new thread about this but figured some of you guys would know this -

Assuming cost wasn't an issue, what is the highest sound quality wireless headset I could use with Xbox One? Being able to chat isn't required, so this could be any wireless headphones that could work with Xbox One.

I'd assume any headset with an optical connection to it's base would work, since you can output audio via HDMI & optical. That's what I'm doing now for an older set of turtle beaches.. no chat but I don't like talking anyway.

Source? Same day as Halo 5 is WIN though. :)

Date on Amazon changed from placeholder to this. Bestbuy is also like this. Same day as Halo.

This is all my speculation. The only monkey wrench is the official Microsoft store with a release date of 10/6. Of course, their stock could come in sooner than other retailers so I'm going to stick with 10/27 to avoid disappointment lol.

Out of interest, did any UK gaffers who preordered from Amazon BEFORE their price mix up have their price updated to the new low price, then cancelled?

If I connect to the PC can I use the paddles as extra command buttons. So I would have 4 extra buttons, or are they tied to the trigger buttons?

Does this mean that you have to pre-order it all over again?
Or do you get to keep your pre-order but for the £150.

From the email-

Your order has now been cancelled. If you still want to purchase this item, please place a new order which will be charged at the correct price, when we dispatch it to you

Unfortunately I would never spend 150 dollars on a controller until I felt this one. That's all I can say. Do not hold do not try. I have a 150 dilemma now. I want it that bad

Having read their terms, their "lowest price guarantee" is utter bollocks, and is determined by whether they deem the low price "correct". So at any point before despatch they can say "that wasn't actually the correct price" then cancel the order rather than fulfilling it.

Plus it's shitty to then be sent to the back of the queue because of their fuck up.

Talk about dilemma. I don't even own an XBone but I have 2 of these things pre-ordered for Gaming PCs. (the controllers alone cost more than an XBone would haha)

It would be nice if I could somehow get these to work with the PS4 (even if I loose button mapping).

I ordered back when it first went up, and it's still showing as £75 in my open orders, no cancellation email yet.

Yeah I still haven't preodered. Kinda rough when you can get 3 games. With that being said, it's a must buy. Gamestop will only give you 22 for a standard controller trade in. 99 is the sweet spot. I'd buy 2. Once you use this controller you will never look at the standard Xbox controller again. The packaging the case is also really nice.

I got this email from Amazon (U.S.):

We have good news! One of your pre-ordered items is now eligible for release date delivery and has been upgraded at no additional charge. Your new delivery estimate is:

"Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller"
Estimated arrival date: October 27, 2015

Since the release date has been confirmed I went ahead and preordered it on Amazon, guaranteed on the 27th. I'll be getting Halo 5 digitally so as long as it ships when it's supposed to, I'll be good to go.

I wonder when Amazon UK will put on a release date. I'm pre-ordering from their UK brand. I'm really crazy excited about both the Elite controller and the Steam controller.

$150 for one controller is ridic.

And i thought the Steam controller i bought was expensive.

All of the features justify its cost.

Did you watch any videos about the controller?
About the materials, the software, and all of the customizable options?

Pre-ordered 27th June on Amazon UK. Price drop to £75 last week but this morning checked my account and it's gone back up to £119.99. Had no email about it.
Gonna try online chat later but doubt I'll get anywhere. Anyone still got the lower price showing?

I do...fingers crossed for the both of us!

Also I spoke to customer service a few days ago and they said the price had been £99 so if they don't reinstate £75 you should push for £99 and a £10 voucher.

Interested in this as well. The video wasn't clear to me on this point but four extra buttons would be useful to me for Elite since joysticks aggravate my RSI.

Quite a few reports that speaking to Amazon customer service they've managed to get £75 price reinstated for the controller.

Worth a go, don't be a dick to the rep. They might try to offer you £90 or £99 but keep angling for the £75!

Depends which rep you get as well.

Yeah, I guess it'd be worth a shot.
Might not hurt to mention their Pre-Order Price Guarantee

Well, I just got off the phone with Amazon customer support.

After talking to the standard customer rep, and not really getting anywhere, they offered to escalate it to their service manager. I had nothing to lose so agreed. After a good 5 minute wait, I was finally connected. So, I explained the following:

I ordered the controller @ £75. Was recently cancelled due to a pricing error. I acknowledged that Amazon's Ts&Cs means they reserve the right to cancel in pricing errors. However, there was some inconsistencies in how they were handling the cancellations.

I explained that I had two friends who also had orders in for the controller. One had ordered before the price dropped to £75 but, thanks to Amazon's price promised, their old order now reflected the reduced price. But, since the cancellation emails went out, his order has remained 'safe' - so to speak, and his order remains. My other friend, who ordered the same time as me, also had his order cancelled. But after contacting Amazon's customer service, he was given a concession and was offered a refund of the difference between the current price of £119.99 and the recently reduced price of £75. I argued that between the 3 of us, Amazon was showing 3 different resolutions to the pricing error. I then explained that I had actually made a new order at the new price of £119.99 after my order was cancelled, but was very willing to cancel my order due to Amazons varying solutions as explained above. I also mentioned that Gamestop.co.uk were selling the pad for £99.99 and if Amazon wasn;t prepared to meet me, at least midway between the issues I described then I was going to cancel my order. He was able to look on the system and see that I did, actually, have a new order at £119.99.

The Service manager then agreed to honour the original price of £75. He said my order will be updated at some point today and ill receive an email confirmation reflecting the update as well. Overall, a very painless experience, everyone was calm, no one got frustrated and, hopefully, Ill get what I was promised.

So, I'm just waiting on these confirmations before I declare an out right win here.
