Xbox 360 + backwards compatibility + LAN = ??

Looking to do some Halo next weekend, but the environment will be mixed.

Does anyone know if Xbox1 games with LAN modes will work if an Xbox and a 360 (in BC mode) are hooked together? I wouldn't suspect that there would be a problem, but I guess you never know.

In BC mode your basically playing on a Xbox...so yes it works on a LAN.
That's what I assumed, but wanted to someone with experience to reassure me. I was thinking there might be some incompatibility at the hardware level.

Other dumb questions:
360 supposedly does not require a router anymore for 1system-to-1system LAN.....can you do 1-to-1 LAN between a 360 and an Xbox without issue? Or would you still need a router for the Xbox?

Gears of War Co-Op can be done over LAN, correct?

I went to a military school where all the computers were hooked together on an internal network. Halo 2 parties made no distinction between 360's and the originals.

You never needed a router for the original Xbox. You must use a crossover cable instead of a normal network cable, that's all. Same is true for the 360.
