XBOX 360 E

I did a quick search with no results (though I am sure I am probably just over looking something). Anyway Microsoft has remodeling the 360 again, it looks worse, cost the same, so I don't really understand why they did it, but yeah...

It was announced a while ago. I actually own one if anyone has any questions about it. Seems the same to me. I bought it to try a handful of 360 games that I couldn't get on PS3 since the generation is about to end.

how quiet is it?

dimensions? Like do you have any other systems we could compare t to?

The new 360 doesn't have an optical audio output (toslink) and (less important) it also lacks Component video support.

I like the look of it myself.

No way would I purchase a new one though.

It is a pretty cool idea though to sell to the people who always buy at the end of generation for the cheaper prices. Makes it not seem like an old product.

I thought it was already known to have the same motherboard as the previous S? It's not 'cheaper' at all...its just missing the multi-port, meaning no analog output, HDMI (and optical) only.

Looks like making it look like Xbone will make people wonder which is new console in first place.

Not like Wii U had this problem

Yet no consumer benefit? You'd think they'd pass the cost reductions back down to the buyer at the very least.

It's the same reason why the PS3 isn't receiving any price cuts. These systems have matured and their ecosystem value merits the system cost. Plus any sort of price cut has the potential to cannibalize the next-gen sales, and this first year is important to priming the market for the years to come.

I think the idea is that they wanted to release it now, but didn't want to drop the price yet. I would hope/think that it will be reduced in price later this year.

Yeah the 360 E is a massive disappoint especially when there was talk of it possibly being only slightly larger than a Apple TV device. If that was the case i would of defo got one to run along side the XBONE when i got 1

It's almost the identical size of the slim 360 by my eyes, but it's square (I've owned both). No curves or angles at all on the new one though. As for noise it seems about the same too, maybe a bit quieter. One thing is that the entire right side is basically one giant vent. It's obviously where all of the hot components are, because the other day I played Halo 4 for a few hours and wanted to touch the system to see how hot it was. The right side was blowing a ton of hot air (like, really moving the air around), but the left side (vent-less on top) was just barely above room temperature.

It's packaged a little differently, but everything is fundamentally the same. My guess is that it's cheaper to make so MS can lower the price this holiday to about $200 or so.

interesting that people look for reasons not to buy it instead of reasons why they should.

I see no reason why I should even consider it, at all, notwithstanding the port omissions.

Is this even possible? Apple TV uses smart phone hardware. 360 does not (obviously). Also 360 needs to have a disc and hard drive slot.

I still have my Falcon Elite. Dodgy disc drive aside, it seems alright.

He was thinking of the rumored xbox one 360 dongle.

Forgot all about this

Personally think it's just to allow MS to drop price of 360 holiday season as others suggested

But wait guys you can have BC on your X1! Just plug a X360E into the input hdmi on your X1! Instant BC

Not that the PS4 is going to be any better at launch sigh

Suppose sony probably has more of an excuse though

I feel like purchasing an another Xbox 360 so I can play Halo 4. But I think I'll wait longer for the price drop.

I did exactly this for Halo 4 with the Xbox 360 S because my original bit the dust. Turns out Halo 4 is severely disappointing even with the latest update. The only thing that might make me start playing it again is the new old school matchmaking playlist.

I like the way it looks, but with less connectors and same price as the previous model, it doesn't really look like a great deal.

Well, now that they couldn't bone you with the Xbone always online and telling you to buy a 360, maybe they'll have to drop the price.

This is the product they have for you if you're on a nuclear sub.

Still, all those sweet 360 exclusive titles coming out later this year and in 2014. Titles like
