Xbox 360 E gives the best backrubs.

Sounds like an argument in favor of the S. Not that I care about optical out since I currently use an adapter to connect the red and whites to the green jack on my speaker system. But if I did ever get a good headset, would the audio be bad compared to hearing it through optical out which I have never heard?

S is better in my opinion. Some gaming headsets for 360 require optical output.
It just gives you more options... E is simply cheaper for MS to produce with no reduction in cost to consumers.

It's available in Game (UK), but it's not very visible on their site, nor is it in their stores.

Picked one up a couple of weeks ago though, here's an unboxing for those of you that are interested:

And a noise comparison with the old slim:

You know the massive buzzing from the S is from the disc spinning up right? It's unfair to boot one with the disc in and the other without. I did totally hear the difference in disc noise levels though so while E is quieter than S your comparison video is still not really fair.

Thanks for the videos.

Sometimes the real joke... is that there's no joke at all.

haha jk once I figured it out everything came together beautifully and made perfect sense. It's all in the small details.

If it can play older 360 games then I'll probably buy it, need a new one after my used one croaked (I really have to stop buying used consoles).

If they drop the price I might get one. I've never owned any of the Xboxes before so there's a nice backlog in store for me.

It would have been really neat if they got the size down like the rumors said, It should have basically been the dimensions of a DVD drive, but a little taller for the SoC, but hey what do I know, I'm no electrical engineer.
