Xbox 360 Live demo availability thread

Awesome - I was hoping they'd make a Flatout demo, and they actually did!

Juiced 2 isn't something I was watching, but unexpected demos are always nice! :D

What do you guys think of the Juiced demo? I like the car modding section, although it's been in so many racing games, it fits the whole Juiced world well.

But so far I can't my head around the racing, any tips?

Juiced is awful. The driving is unfun, and the T & A is just sad. There's a silhouette of a writhing women during game loads. The narrator at the beginning sounds like the lady from Burnout Revenge, only she sounds like she's trying to talk sexy, and ends up sounding like a she-male.

I used my EU account to get the Flatout demo. Excellent game, though it's kind of difficult b/c of the janky driving physics. But the amount of objects thrashing about during a race is amazing, and the framerate stays pretty steady at 30 fps. And it's pretty to look at as well. I wish this game was available in the US. I would have already bought it :(

I noticed someone on my friends list was playing a Beautiful Katamari Demo - sent him a PM about it but no answer yet. Anyone know what region (if any) it was released in?

=O

What's the guy's gamertag? I want to check his online profile.

It's on the new OXM disc.

WTF did they do to the Juiced series? Ugh! Horrible! It's much more arcadey then the previous game. A bad arcadey! Ugh! Stupid demo.

The horrible aftertaste from playing Juiced demo has throughly been washed with the Flatout demo (I used my UK silver account). WOW! That's a pleasant surprise out of nowhere. The amount of crap bing thrown in the air from the crashes and debris are awesome! If you can pick it up for $40~45 from Frys release special or something, it should be a very nice time filler while you wait for Burnout.

Played through the darkness demo, pretty short but sweet. I'd like to get this game but not at full price, i'll probably pick it up in the post christmas sales.

Why is it gone? :(

Weird, I downloaded it earlier today. Wonder why they pulled it? This has been a reoccurring theme hasnt it? Demo gets thrown up on the Marketplace people start downloading it like mad and then it gets pulled. Wonder what the deal is, hmm!

By the way the demo is pretty great for the first few minutes I've been playing it, woot!

I managed to get it.

I'd want my money back if I'd paid for it, because it was awful.

What did you not like about it? From the first couple of levels I've played of a friend's copy it seems really interesting and fun.

Juiced 2
I laughed at the general lameness and corny lines (his DNA is cooking, be careful you don't get burned) then made a Camaro covered in birdcrap and proceeded to drive into walls due to the floaty, erratic physics.

Flatout 2.5
Marveled at graphics, PITed a Lancer and forced it into the woods, laughed like a maniac. Pushed another car into a huge signboard, laughed like a maniac. Tried hitting a car, missed, went offroad into the woods, recovered and managed to hit the car perfectly so it went flying into a tree, laughed like a maniac. I didn't win, but who cares?

I thought I would be instabored by it as I already own and have gotten bored of Flatout 2. But nope. I'm now contemplating a purchase.

the demo was terrible, I was hoping for another decent racing game, after forza 2 got me back into racing, but this demo is laughable. No sense of speed at all.

The first "chapter" is just "sit in the car and do nothing". They have 3 for you to play, and I found the controls to just always feel off, making the combat unfun. But I didn't delve too deep, so I can't judge too much. Bad first impression though.

Is it still possible for an American to make a UK Live account, or has that been disabled? Thinking of checking out he Flatout demo.

I'm pretty sure you can still make one you just won't be able to buy anything from the Marketplace.

That's pretty much how I feel about the demo. It's not really great and the whole Darkness-thing feels kinda "clumsy"..

I agree.

The Darkness powers felt unresponsive really, I didn't like them. The creeping was clumsy to control, and the other one had a really short range. The aiming was pretty annoying as well, seems like they added too much auto-aim.

Still, it was fun, and the graphics looked very cool.

The auto aim in The Darkness is freakin' ridiculous. I'm usually not too aware of it in most games but you couldn't help but notice it in that demo. The reticle(s) are like freakin' character magnets. You get anywhere near a couple inches from an enemy and the sights gravitate towards them like a fat girl on ice cream.

And what's up with the default setting for the aim sensitivity? This is another thing I usually don't fiddle with in most games but here it's definately way too low. You really have to crank it up for it to feel half way decent.

Ok guys, I don't really like the darkness I beat it and kind of was underwhelmed but in the full game you can turn auto aim completely off and adjust the turning sensitivities, so if you cant do that in the demo dont judge the quality of it from those parts.

except x,y sensitivity, you get sliders for x,y acceleration too.

turning the auto aim off, maxing the x,y sensitivity and lowering (a lot) the x,y acceleration
makes this game play a lot better

Even with that though, I don't think I'd enjoy it. The enemy AI is non-existent and I actually found the darkness powers boring. The snake thing was awkward, there's almost no control over the gremlin, and using the tentacle to lift things was just tedious.
