Xbox Games with Gold for June

I think I'm on that level now, the horned guys, the game finally just felt tedious, I then promptly loaded up sunset overdrive for the first time

Another game I've spent less than 2 hours on in my backlog.

But I need to finish Thief. I paid for it, I will get my money's worth. It's actually not a bad game, just not something I can play for long stretches. Then Sunset Overdrive.... or maybe one of my unfinished launch games - Battlefield 4 / Dead Rising 3.

I'm seriously considering setting up my 360 again, with nothing to play on my One and a crazy GwG backlog with Black Flag, Tomb Raider, Army of Two etc.

Hmm... Massive Chalice and Just Cause 2 are two games I already own on PC, and would argue are way better on PC for various reasons.

Kinda bummed.

I mean, it's great their both there for people, but it just ain't my month at all :/

That needs to change. Especially when I'm now getting about four PS4 games each month.

It's crazy how good cross-buy is. I've already played a good bit of Ground Zeroes, but I still have three other games to mess with.

I completely forgot Skulls of the Shogun until it was announced as a PS+ game, too. Looking forward to it.

Again for those complaining about the Pool game. MS said from the beginning it would be 1 XB1 game a month and 2 XB360 games a month. They just choose to roll over a previous months games at times.

That needs to change. Especially when I'm now getting about four PS4 games each month.

I don't even know what I could suggest as a better game, I just thought that E3 month would have something a bit more exciting.

Maybe they'll use E3 as a chance for the old "available...right now!".

Good month for me. Never played Just Cause 2 and although I would've liked to try it on the One , Thief is something I want to play. I don't hear many good things about it but I'll try it out for free on 360. Massive Chalice is a maybe. I'm running out of space on my One so I need to manage that first.

It should be obvious by now that MS don't really consider GwG a core part of the Xbox Live subscription regardless of whether their users do or not. Im happy we're getting Massive Chalice and for me its a decent month but... I just don't expect much to change really.

Just the realities of the situation as I see... we could be saying "Wait for E3! Wait for Gamescom!" forever

Will definitely download Massive Chalice, looks quite interesting. Not really sure I want another pool game though, although it has to be better than the last one.

EDIT:
Wait, hang on. This is the same pool game again? What the hell.

It's obvious, but they could at least try to maintain some illusion they give a crap. Giving away the same game again two months after the first time is just such a cynical and shitty move, I don't even know what to say about it beyond what the fuck...

My thoughts exactly. The 360 stuff has been solid but the XB1 stuff has been lacking, and the 3 month reign of Pool Nation makes it feel like they aren't even trying. That said Massive Chalice does look good so it could be worse I suppose.

It's so weird that they would not at least try and match PSN+ now that Sony isn't trying much anymore either. Oh well, at least the games are just perks and not the point of subscribing.

I'd rather they get serious or just stop.

It's getting pretty insulting with how they re handling it on X1 and it's not like there isn't direct competitor to compare it to and see what the service should really be like.

I'm guessing a game or two gets added to this during E3. They just don't want to announce yet.

Yeah, they will probably pull one of those "and you can download it for free starting now" things during the press conference or sometime during E3.

Why is everyone so angry? We got one new game the same we do every month.

Not necessarily angry but I do think what Microsoft offers for GWG on XB1 is pretty much inadequate next to what Sony offers on PS4. I don't think there's a legitimate excuse as to why Microsoft can't offer two new games every month instead of doing hold overs.

Sony has the cross buy feature between Vita and what not so I can cut Microsoft a lot of slack on why they're not offering 4 game every month but even ignoring that, PS+ still offers more games month in and month out. It's past time for Microsoft to measure up to the competition with GWG.

Regardless, I'm excited for Massive Chalice. I think just seeing Pool Nation FX on there for the third month in a row is leaving a sour taste in people's mouths, especially knowing that Microsoft can do better.

I just got around to playing Pool Nation today. Is it just me or is this game really blurry for an Xbox One game? Either it's not native 1080p or it has an insanely aggressive aliasing solution.

+1

This is also a bad month for me 'cause I didn't really like the look of Masssive Chalice but I guess I'll have to check it out.

The month with Rayman was by far the best.

What have you missed out on as a result?

Different games is the obvious answer here.

The PS+ thread would be fucking brutal (more so than usual) if Sony released the same game two months in a row (not counting different territories).

I kind of want to see it, it would be a war zone

The month with a port of an old ass game? You got some weird ass priorities. Massive Chalice the best looking thing they've had on there to date.

So the argument that "we want more free games"?

There has been one new game every month Since GWG started, why would this month be any different?

Nobody has lost out, if you want castle storm as your first free game then you have a few days left to do so.

Rayman was a good game. Guacamelee was a good game. Super Time Force was a good game. D4 was an alright game. Valiant Hearts was an alright game. I owned and paid for all of those games. That is the problem with GWG imo. Support the early adopters who mean the most to your bottom line.

Being a real competitive pool player on a real table, I can attest that Pool Nation FX is a really bad game with poor physics.

Is the gold standard for this genre still the Virtual Pool series? Bit sad really considering its basically a 90's game.

I tried Pool Nation FX but didn't last 5 minutes on it. I'm more than content playing Miniclips 8 ball pool on the iPad.

I think people just want the service to evolve into something more along the lines of their direct competitor, and I do not think that is a bad thing at all.

Evolves into an inferior surface that has to give games away to justify it's subscription? Because that is exactly what PSN was and some will argue still is.

And? I am sure there are others who argue the service is great and provides them a chance to try out more games than they would have if not for said service.

edit: we are just going to argue in a circle here, agree to disagree.

PS+ wasn't introduced as anything but a "free" game service. The requirement to play online multiplayer was introduced way afterwards, so there's no justification going on. Not sure what you're talking about.
