Xbox Games With Gold for September

There been 2 (three if you count I:FL which became a retail title in europe before hitting PSN+)

Ah bollocks, already own TR, may give Crysis a swing hopefully it gets backwards compat.

Not a bad month for MS I think.

Yea that's why there are over 70 pages about MGSV reviews and why review threads are amongst the most popular here, stop pretending reviews don't matter.

Anyway both are great games, this debate isn't relevant to this topic and it's pretty tiring to find it in every thread that mention one of the games.
 
I kinda feel like adding Tomb Raider might actually kinda deflate or reduce demand for Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Come November I could easily see someone saying "Ehhhh, I just played a Tomb Raider game two months ago. I should buy FallOut/Battlefront instead."

At what point will all 360 GWG titles be required to be backwards compatible?

You don't understand. This isn't about review scores, it's about Metacritic as a whole. That site represents everything wrong with the industry. Don't believe me? Look up all the articles and threads about why MC is such a shady terrible site. MC numbers shouldn't be used as a valid argument.
 
Already played Tomb Raider, but may jump back in eventually for those crazy hair physics. >_>

And I saw something on Deer God yesterday. Looks good. Solid month.

So glad I didn't buy Tomb Raider. I like how they've been releasing the previous installments of games before the new one's release, like with MGSV.

Or the person plays it - loves it and cant wait to play the next game in the series that'll be bigger, with more tombs, in more locations and ultimately prettier sequel?

It could go two ways, personally I think there's just enough time to build anticipation rather than indifference to it.

It really is. But, there is always the "yeah can't wait to play (insert obscure indie ps+ game)" post at the beginning of every pitiful PS+ games thread. Kind of sad.

Do you argue with the fact that U2 received a much bigger critical acclaim though?
It's not like the gap is small, if it was TR with 86 and U2 with 88 than you had a point and it's meaningless, but 10 points is pretty significant and represents a much better reception, one is considered to be a classic and the other is a great game but will not be remembered as U2.

What I'm saying is that one game, as good as it is, can't justify the entire service, Gold gives you one AAA every month and indie as well, by average it's more valuable than Plus, you are getting more bang for your buck, too bad I'm stuck with Plus :/

3 months in a row ain't bad, but I would give GWG a few more months to prove that they will do 1 retail game per month all the time. I'm still salty about Pool Nation. lol

Not on ps4. I only care about current gen at this point. This is a good month on xbox. Ive been preferring the xbox free games overall recently. Sony has been a lot of games i dont even bother downloading.
 
Played (and own GWG) TR on 360..will play again for XB1.

It looks like they have got a few GWG titles ready for new releases..

Ground Zeroes > The Phantom Pain
Tomb Raider > Tomb Raider

I don't get any bang when the AAA game can be had for under $10 just about anywhere. And i don't care if the game is retail or not, just give me good games. I had way more fun with Rocket League than I had with ACIV. Give me more of the former - regardless of whether it's retail or indie or whatever the fuck - than the latter and I'll be as happy as a pig in a peach orchard.

Meh, I hardly have any retail games for Xbox One yet so far they've managed to add each one to GWG lol. :(

Its really quite amazing, I bet next month will be Dead Rising 3!

Meanwhile I never got Ryse and keep ignoring it because I expected it to come to GWG and it never does! Same with Strider.

Can't frickin win.

It's November.

That doesn't mean September or October 360 games with gold won't go BC though, they just can't guarantee it. Pick them up just incase.
 
If you're willing to wait for it, Gears of War 1 will be on GwG the month before Gears 4.

JUST HOLD OUT!

You are right about the Gamescon annoucement.

But every written press release stated November.

This was just bad communication on MS part, or one hand did not know what the other was doing :)

I believe the implication was meant to be that once BC is available (not in the preview program) all future games would be BC.
 
That's a solid month. Having Tomb Raider in there is very smart!

By the way, Mike Ybarra (Xbox) confirmed on Twitter that only GwG available after November will surely work with back compat.

Is there a way I can redeem free Gold games online so I don't have to boot up my dusty Xbox One? For PS+ I have URL for the Sony Store I just use and it is great. I'd love one for Xbox.
 
Could never get into tomb raider on the PC. Will give it a try but if uncharted didn't grab me i doubt tomb raider will.

Might play crysis 3 too. Liked the first two but couldn't bring myself to buy 3.
