Xbox One: "All In One. Input One." banner

When someone figures out CliffyB's tweet let me know.

Already done!

That would be crazy, it would also destroy PS4 (assuming that launches at around 400/450) though.
An extra hundred for a PS4 is easily worth it if you actually own your games, can play offline, and can play multiplayer without a fee. Either one of those would make it worth it.

haha, no way anyone would pay that.

I'd wager they might. I mean, not us, but the average consumer that is conditioned to sign up for smartphone contracts, unlimited data plans, pay only X amount of money for DirectTV, Comcast, or Verizon triple play packages for just XX dollars a month for 12 months if you you sign up now! Most people don't realize they will be paying more in the end. If MS offers a $299 launch price with *requires gold subscription for 24 months (plus cancellation fees) verus a $399 PS4, who knows what might happen. I'd like to think more consumers would be more savy, but if they did this then MS would have not only a price advantage out of the gate versus the PS4, but they would also make more money in the long run to offset the initial $200 hit they'd be taking with each console out of the gate.

What?

Xbone could absolutely launch at that price.

This gen, they launched way more expensive and sold more units.

Xbone could launch at $299, but i'm betting it requires some kind of contract at that price. Would be shocking otherwise.

$299 would scare me and make me think all the problems we've heard about the hardware are true. Unless it was with a subscription.

People here have either completely been overcome with "troll madness" or are really dumb. Clearly it's input one (hdmi1) on your television. They've talked about it extensively both before the announcement and after. Makes sense.

Since this confirms the leaked documents...

299$ - calling it now.

I wonder if the hardware specs have changed since that document & price point? I couldn't find that leaked document online. I think it was removed, understandably. But the picture I found of the system architecture from 2010 was different than the specs announced around the Xbone reveal ( 2010 = 4GB RAM and I think it had backwards compatible hardware? ).

It will be interesting to see if $299 does indeed play out.

I don't get how so many people claim they don't get the slogan. It's dopey, but very simple: it's the "it does everything" angle. All the things, on one input. They aren't pitching the convenience of one input, like oh god MS you saved me so much time pushing the input button on my remote control - they're just emphasizing the "fact" it's an all-in-one box.

Remember--their original plans were a subsidized system at $299 and a non-subsidized one at $499.

Industry people are now saying the subsidized version plan is gone. Don't expect $299.

And I take back my calling of 299$ as a pricepoint - I forgot the subsidized strategy.

Yeah, if you really think about it, it's obvious. But it is dumb as hell. When you actually have to think about what a slogan means, FAIL.

The only way I can see $299 launch is if you have to sign an XBL contract or some other type of subsidy/contract. I don't see it though.

I'm gonna have a stroke trying to figure out what the hell this even means.

Input One....One what?

One of many ways to fuck myself if I buy this console?

Yeah, it's an awkward message. I got the general idea, but the wording felt awkward till I read this thread and realized what it was referencing.

I don't see how anyone that wasn't following the X1 news didn't immediately get it, though the "input as a verb" angle was new to me. I just don't see this being a big deal to have as a convenience, it certainly won't matter to anyone who wants to use more than one game system anyway, or alternatively if videophiles aren't satisfied with their video output and have a dedicated player for that.

And on my TV it'd be Input 6 anyway. Input 1's S-Video/composite and they don't support that.

Another stupid idea.... Pumped for tomorrows tragedy wanna see what else they pull to send former M$ first guys like me running to Sony.

PS4, the only one game console you need.

Games that require the cloud will be "layered" in after 2013? That's going to be an absolute disaster.
