Xbox One and 360 lead all platforms in E3 award nominations

MS had the upper hand for me as well. No idea how Ryse and Dead Rising 3, won anything though.

If this is by nominations who leads by wins?

Well the Xbox One did have the better games lineup. Say what you want about the hardware and policies but Microsoft brought plenty of games in variety.

They did show more games, but I wonder how long that is going to last in the Xbox1's lifecycle, also the fact that Ryse got a shit loads of nominations and 2 wins shows how BS some of this is. Did anybody see how it played, it looked awful.

The demo specifically lowered the health to show off the kill animations more. I'm atleast giving it a chance, I want to see more gameplay without them doing stuff like that to actually show off combat more.

Also, it can still win for things like graphics.

You thought it looked awful, and whilst seemingly some people agree with you, not everyone does.

Im personally looking forward to playing it.

A lot of people have been saying that, I don't see it, TitanFall looks rad, but that's about it for me.

Not that Sony's much better, all they really have that I care about is InFamous, FFXIV and The Witness.

They both really need to step it up, third parties are looking to define the launch for both of them.

Haha. This is just Microsoft beating that exclusives drum for all the world to see. Same thing they've been doing since E3. They spent a billion dollars, they better have something to show for it.

Good 'ole Canadian boy Don is pleased!

Wait, he is Canadian?

We are so so sorry.

I was about to say this. Billion dollar budget at work. NOTHING at Microsoft excited me. Infact it inspired yawning. In between the laughter anyways

Everyone complaining about Ryse apparently only watched it on the stage demo. The off-screen demo on gamersyde looks a lot better. Its 100% Batman gameplay, enemies lived longer than the on stage demo and the qtes were optional finishing moves. Graphically it looks pretty amazing too.

I thought it was already known that Ryse's demo was just "sped up" and that the gameplay won't be exactly like what we saw.

Anyway, makes sense that XBO would take so many nominations and awards, they definitely showed the most and best looking games.

I'm a shooter fan so MS's line-up speaks to me. Crimson Dragon looks pretty awesome as well.

Do you have a link for it? I'm actually interested in seeing it.

The devs themselves said that it's practical about QTE since you need to press the correct button depending on the animation of your opponent. And you can finish EVERY enemy with a QTE execute.

Best looking games? Infamous 3 and the Division want to have a chat with you.

They have the better launch lineup, too bad they don't have the better system (IMO). Most of my gaming is heavily focused on 3rd party titles so the 'better' system will win out for me. I'll eventually own one to play some exclusives down the road, but they have a lot of convincing to do for me to choose it over the PS4 as my main console this generation.

But I was really impressed with a majority of the games.

Why wouldn't they?
The exclusive games are the most important thing when it comes to picking a console for gaming.
Obviously a great marketing point.

Would love a link to this!

Don't talk about games on other systems. It's not fair for Microsoft and their billion darru budget.

What did they have? Isn't TitanFall the only exclusive shooter?
Titanfall, Halo and Black Tusk. While Halo 4 was meh, it's still better then than the majority of shooters out there. While we haven't see anything Black Tusk, it's clear MS is putting money into it to creating a shooter box again.

You are right though, 3rd party shooter showings was overall more interesting. Titanfall looks amazing though.

I am in this hobby for the games.
MS showed the best games easily. A really strong showing with an actual effort on variety and quality.

I certainly agree Halo 4, while the weakest Halo, is still better than it's peers (which really says a lot about the field), I guess I don't count it because it was just a CG trailer. I wouldn't count the Black Tusk thing because it wasn't even a game announcement. Might as well count The Order.

I didn't see negative impressions of Ryse from anyone who actually played it at the conference. Is all of the criticism based on the QTE heavy demo that the devs said was not representative of the game?

They had the best lineup so it's not surpising.

For people who only want that shoot bang wang shootan machine.

I've actually seen hicks at stores sign up for that bullshit deal MS goes for which makes me wonder why they haven't subsidized again this time.

Warning. Story is CANON.

I was at a best buy and saw some guy say 'Damn, I want a system with some shooters. Huh? Xbox 360? 99 dollars with contract? Hot damn, I'm gonna get me some of that."

I'm still shocked that Microsoft hasn't released a subsidized price with the XBoneR+. Oh well. Hopefully they continue to make new ips instead of retreads past the three year mark.

Titalfall deserved it. Best game of the show. Really the only reason I've haven't completed written of the Xbox One.

But the Xbox One getting all of those nominations? That's a bit of surprise.

Oh I didn't mean graphically.

It's mostly from an article (Kotaku? not sure about that) that came out later and talked about the QTEs not actually requiring the correct buttons to be pressed.

Well:

Best of Show
- Destiny (Bungie/Activision)
- Oculus Rift HD (Oculus VR)
- PlayStation 4(Sony Computer Entertainment)
- Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment/Electronic Arts)
- Watch Dogs (Ubisoft)

Best Hardware
- Oculus Rift (Oculus VR)
- PlayStation 4 (Sony Computer Entertainment)
- Blade (Razr)
- Shield (Nvidia)
- Xbox One (Microsoft)

Somehow I think Best HW will be either PS4 or Oculus Rift HD (since they are also being nominated as best of show). Unlikely that the MS will get that bone.

And one of the Titanfall nominations is as best PC game. What a win for the Xbox One.

Sounds like MS is taking a cue from Sony when they had their Playstation family press releases to hide the bad news.

Yeah, pretty slim pickings now that I thought it through.
Here's how Microsoft got all those nominations.

I'll assume the same when The last of us wins all goty's then. >_>
