Xbox One and headsets - I'm confused..?

I believe Albert specifically mentioned that there would be an adapter but not at launch a couple months ago. On this site.

Yea that's kinda what he said. I was going to quote it in my other post but I was too lazy to look it up.

Edit: but I see you found it. Awesome!

I use my Sennheiser PC360s w/ the Astro mixamp on my 360 currently, is this setup still going to work on the Xbox One at launch or no? Based off of what I'm reading, I'm assuming no for voice chat, yes for everything else.

Yep, only way to use chat will be the packed in headset or kinect. Until they release the adapters in 2014.

Don't be daft it has nothing to do with magic or breaking the laws of physics it's called proper software and hardware.

But but but... That is a recording of a recording! They could have pulled a David Blaine on us!

In all seriousness, these videos need to be taken with a grain of salt. We should at least wait till a bunch of people not associated with MS test it and post detailed thoughts.

You can use your Astro headsets on Xbox One day one but you will have to use the Kinect as the microphone until the adapter comes out. Better than the PS4 where you can't talk at all until the drivers are updated.

Already confirmed that you can use the Kinect as a microphone with the Astros.

And why you could not use pseye as mic if ps4 does not recognise mic from headset? Are you spewing BS?

LOL

This must be the "bad news" we were all waiting in anticipation for.

pfffffffffft

Also, to reiterate what I said yesterday. I thought this was something we knew a long time ago.....or at least was expected due to the hardware changes.

All we knew was the adapter wouldn't be available at launch. This at least gives some type of time frame for when it will be available. Looks like you will have to wait at least 5 weeks, since that would get us into 2014 or "next year" but how much longer after that is still up in the air.
