Not really - a lot of these games have that "Ultimate Team" microtransaction stuff in it that amazingly sells "card packs" like hotcakes for like $2 a pop.
I don't think so. Weren't they selling at a loss even when the system was $500. I just think MS is in a position where they have to keep price parity along with the PS4 in order to stay competitive. I wonder if they drop the price yet again how much they'll be losing.

Just about every EA game is selling more on PS4, but EA decides to play favorites with MS. Must be a pretty big check!

Free Madden? Might do it if the marketing hits indicating that all season long (or at least until November just before the Thanksgiving game)
May increase their numbers above what their monthly will be. We'll see soon what July was like for them at NPD (in a week or two), and then compare next month what help this gave them.
I think bundles like this is the first step to getting back into the game (heh...EA pun intended), but of course, this is a multiplatform game and people KNOW Madden is on every conceivable system (that's not Nintendo if iirc), so it'll help some, but may not convert the EA/Madden fans who already made up their mind.
Keep on this track though MS. The SO bundle is also a nice help.

In all likelihood, this is a separate deal from that. Though maybe an official NFL license seal on the box might be part of it.

Eh not really. That $500 million deal has Microsoft/Xbox as the exclusive NFL partner. They're using Surface tablets on the sidelines this year as a new way to get the play pictures that are normally printed on the sideline. Also Xbox will be mentioned a bunch during games with segments brought yo you by Xbox things.
This is a deal with EA to pack their game into the box. This probably stems from a deal done with EA and Microsoft.

Oops, forgot I have Kinect in the closet, and that I turned cable off in 2012 since I wasn't watching anything other than UFC PPV's and the NFL. HD antenna gives free Atlanta Falcons games in HD -- w00t. Too bad the HD antenna doesn't work with Xbox TVTVTV.
This never gets old.

Never gonna happen. Lord knows how much MS is dropping to continue doing this with EA's top games.
It's the first time it has the same official price than PS4 but with a game included.

Sony does the same. And MS did create an internal studio; Black Tusk. They were just forced to stop development on Shangheist for Gears 4.

Eh...debatable. I don't believe those PS3 Madden bundles ever had that much of an impact.

I liked how on TV they had someone just pressing buttons and drawing lines on it, and then cut to players and coaches using the same ol' photos that they always use.
It's not mandatory to use the Surfaces, so I wonder just how many will.

Sony would be stupid to not try and jump on a potential marketing deal with Battlefront.
Pretty much how I feel when I see these stupid exclusivity deals.

PS4 Solus: $399.
XBone Solus :$399

Microsoft have to subsidise the publisher for every copy they pack in, just like they did packing in titanfall at the same price as the Solus retail.
Sony also doesn't need the studios they have a far bigger quantity and wide range of studios which is why they release varied exclusives all the way through the life of their consoles, Microsoft, does not. the Xbone needs to provide value up and above the PS4 to up sales, packing in a game that'll run better and sell better on another console won't do crap.
And your example of black tusk shows why they need more studios, they turn one of their new studios into the latest of an army of Halo,Forza, fable factories that'll give diminishing returns, instead of developing new and interesting IP's.

Man, EA is really devaluing their properties. Throwing in Titanfall, and now a big Football game for free really makes those titles feel cheap. Next thing we'll see is a copy of BF5 thrown in for Christmas.
