If they're doing this with Madden, it's pretty certain they'll go all in with the Halo collection. MS would be very foolish not to.
If they really wanted this to move units, they'd make it available a week or more before the actual Madden 15 release date-- ie you could get the new Madden a week or two before everyone else if you bit.
People who are huge Madden fans would do it in a heartbeat, and people who just wanted to get a cheap Xbone would bite and then sell the codes for $$$ on ebay/craigslist. Both make for happy customers and sell bones.
It would hurt EA though, as there would be a big backlash from Playstation owners mad that lots of Xbox owners were unfairly getting the game early...

They don´t have to press the discs, packing, storage, shipping to the stores ...
I wound´t be surprised if they earn the exact same money with a retail copy of madden vs. a bundled copy.
That's actually a pretty smart move by Microsoft. Probably easier to attract the a little more casual audience with bundles and this is definitely one of the games that will do that.

I don't think they lose anything really. MS still has to pay EA for these correct? Also since it's a voucher I believe this will be limited.
Do we know the financial status of the Xbox? Just out of curiosity, seems to me like they've been bleeding money since launch: Kinect, console, and gamepad R&D, big marketing, Titanfall exclusive, PvZ timed exclusive, FIFA bundle, Forza bundle, NFL bundle, Titanfall Bundle, and sales are still poor.

Doubt it, it comes out at end of the month, and probably won't have a huge impact.
And TLOU:R came out last day of June, so that will carry over to august somewhat to keep PS4 on top.

It would be very small differences if so, and I doubt they care to take the time to try and purposely make one look better than the other. There would be no point to it, especially when the last one (correct me if I'm wrong) was the same across the two platforms.

At this point I'm starting to wonder if the stand alone Kinect is going to happen. Figured it'd be announced no later than a month after they started selling Kinectless SKUs so they could upsell people. The 360 was upsell city after all.

I imagine xbox One will basically be like the Wii U in that there are going to be no non-bundle units on store shelves after the current stock runs out. Sony will have more bundles, but not to this extent, and probably not all with free games like Xbox/Wii U.
Holiday season's coming up though. All 3 were guaranteed to have new bundles out.
Reminds me of when I bought my 360 four years ago from Dell and got a free copy of Madden 11. But back then it was the actual game so I was able to trade it in to Amazon for $40 in credit.

True, but if you live in a tier 1 country, you can just order or cross the border to buy that bundle if you want to.
I believe Madden 15 on PS3/360 will be based on last years engine while Madden 15 on current gen is going forward on a separate engine.

Absolutely. Though they could risk having too many SKU's out, they need to make it as easy as possible to push consoles with their ace in the hole this holiday. (MCC) A $399 MCC bundle would help that greatly and, as you said, MS would be stupid not to capitalize on MCC this holiday.

I know about Kinect for Windows, not the same thing though. They were making big talk about how kinectness Xbox One would mean more Kinects long term. Yet you still can't buy 'em for Xbox One separately.

All of the deals has done "something for them"; they have all helped Xbox One sales. Not overtaking PS4 doesn't negate that.
Anyway, this bundle should do pretty well in NA since people will get Madden for free. On top of this, I could see the bundle being advertised in many NFL games this upcoming season. "The official game of the NFL with the official console of the NFL."

That is not too dificult to work out... Microsoft are paying the royalties on every game sold!
No massive money hats, and it probably works out cheaper for microsoft because no doubt they have a deal to reduce royalties because it is just a download. No manufacturing costs, transport etc...
