I love this kind of free. Amazon loves this kind of free too. When I browse the TV there is a 'whats free to me' sectionYou pay £10.99 a month.
Bandwidth doesn’t effect speed?Don't give up, you'll be right one day.
The "future is now" and yet everything Xbox is doing, Sony already did last decade with PS Now and no one gave a shit. They didn't have brand ambassadors on every forums to spread the word I guessBack in 2015. Cloud gaming will never take off.
PlayStation Now game streaming launches on Samsung smart TVs
The Verge is about technology and how it makes us feel. Founded in 2011, we offer our audience everything from breaking news to reviews to award-winning features and investigations, on our site, in video, and in podcasts.www.theverge.com
What do you base this assertion on?Yep, this is the future. I will stick to dedicated hardware as long as they will continue to make it but this right here is the future.
Pretty badass honestly as a backup option for people.
I was playing pac man museum yesterday on my phone through the cloud. Worked completely fine, and that game is very dependent on control accuracy.
PS5 $500
Xbox Series X $500
Xbox Series S $300
XCloud Free
I could see a whole generation of kids growing up playing like this, especially during a recession and global chip shortage. Then fast forward 12 years and it's just normal for everyone.
What do you base this assertion on?
A small video of the app
They still do those things yes. And you're talking about non interactive media. It's not remotely the same. It'll be an option but never the primary way people play games. Did you say the same when psnow launched?History? How do masses consume music or movies? Do they go to the store to buy music on CDs / movies on DVDs and play it on dedicated piece of hardware? Do they buy them digitally? No, they stream because it's faster and more convenient.
Internet speeds are only going one way: up. I remember the days when downloading one song could take hours. Internet speed in some areas of the world are the only limiting factor but it will change with time. Streaming is the future.
Playing PS4 games on the Vita’s OLED was the bomb. Just a shame the Vita had a gimped wifi card. The "future is now" and yet everything Xbox is doing, Sony already did last decade with PS Now and no one gave a shit. They didn't have brand ambassadors on every forums to spread the word I guess
I was already streaming games on Vita back then
It does seem odd that every single person who says this kind of stuff are MS fans. The "future is now" and yet everything Xbox is doing, Sony already did last decade with PS Now and no one gave a shit. They didn't have brand ambassadors on every forums to spread the word I guess

Where do you live in this magical land of no latency? You also dodged a question. Did you say the same when psnow launched? I kind of doubt it.Masses do these things? Are you feeling okay, sir?
You can stream games here and now with little to none latency, if your internet is up to the task. Internet speeds are going up. Streaming technology is getting better. AI upscaling technology is getting better. It won't happen overnight but it will happen, just like with music and movie industry. It's really not that hard to understand if you've been alive long enough.
So yes, with 100% certainty, there will be a time when masses will consume games using cloud streaming on whatever device they want. And then there will be dedicated gaming hardware for smaller group of enthusiasts.
Really? I thought there was a district difference in popularity between Game Pass and PS Now. Sony doing subscriptions first != Sony doing subscriptions better. The "future is now" and yet everything Xbox is doing, Sony already did last decade with PS Now and no one gave a shit. Merry Christmas gamers. I hope you like crap.
Sony doing sub plans involving games is a disaster. In the 8 years it's been available, PS Now is at about 4M subbers. It was 3.2M a year ago but they stopped telling the sub count. So for sake of estimates, I'll round up to 4M a year later. And that's probably being generous. GP probably had more subs in year one alone.Really? Oh look, this dude is playing a racing game and a FPS via Xcloud. Is it perfect? No. Will it get perfect? With time, absolutely.
I remember downloading P. DIddy's "Bad Boy for Life" music video for over a week back in the early 2000s. 20 years later I can live stream games to my phone. If you don't understand where this is going swap "advanced" with "backwards" in your tag and you're good to go.
I've been saying this for years. I don't know when PS now launched but I don't expect Sony to lead the charge in streaming revolution.
PS Now failed because the price was a rip off for years, the games were old, and going by that metacritic recap someone did, a lot of the games on PS Now are crap dragging down the avg rating score. And a lot of games are stream only. Playing it PC is 100% streaming no matter what. For the first bunch of years, it was even 100% stream only for all platforms. And also for the first half, it was capped at 720p/30 fps. They've been here long enough to know.
MS looked at everything Sony did with PS Now and copied it 100%. All of this was already done and it failed. They laughed at Stadia too and the app is already on everything.
The Xbox marketing machine is in full force so we'll see if it works this time.
Of course you don't. You don't believe Google will either. MS will somehow succeed where all others have failed. What a joke.
Remember when Sony thought they could charge you game rental prices, per game for streaming on PSNOW? How the hell did they ever think that would catch on?PS Now failed because the price was a rip off for years, the games were old, and going by that metacritic recap someone did, a lot of the games on PS Now are crap dragging down the avg rating score. They had no idea what they were doing.
The only thing GP has in common with PS Now is they are both game sub plans.
GP launched a few years later, but has better promotion deals, more recent games, first party day one, all games downloadable to play at their native res/frames on console and PC. None of this forced streaming crap like this is OnLive from 10 years ago. Also includes EA Play for added value.
If you say so. Google couldn't make it happen but MS will. Makes sense.Saying that game streaming will fail because Stadia failed is like saying that social media will fail because Google + failed. Joke's on you.

Let's take it from another perspective. Gigabit speed internet in my neck of the woods cost 100 dollars a month. You really think someone who pays that much for high speed internet can't afford a 500 dollar console?
Oh shit. I forgot about that. I remembered only the $45 per quarter price. $180/yr for a limped service.Remember when Sony thought they could charge you game rental prices, per game for streaming on PSNOW? How the hell did they ever think that would catch on?

How much it will cost in 10, 20, 30 years? You're thinking here and now. Look back 20-30 years and look where we are now. Then try to image where is it going in 20-30 years.
Music streaming as we know it today would feel like complete sci-fi to me 30 years ago. I was glued to my hi-fi listening to radio and trying to catch that one song I like to record it on a tape.
Things will be different.
And yet everyone forgot about PSNow and even Sony abandoned the brand. The "future is now" and yet everything Xbox is doing, Sony already did last decade with PS Now and no one gave a shit. They didn't have brand ambassadors on every forums to spread the word I guess

Cloud gaming today even compared to a year or two ago has made massive leaps forward. I can stream 3080 tier PC games with ray tracing, 4K resolution and HDR to my TV via GeForce Now and the latency is nearly as good/low as a console. How much it will cost in 10, 20, 30 years? You're thinking here and now. Look back 20-30 years and look where we are now. Then try to image where is it going in 20-30 years.

What logic? Streaming is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. You are applying too much common sense and logic... I would advise against that
Xbox is a much more recognized gaming brand than Stadia .. just sayingGoogle with all it's money can't make stadia happen but MS will succeed? Sure Jan.
MS has failed projects too. Yet somehow this is inevitable?Do you think the advertising / marketing company makes everything they attempt a success?
They have numerous failed projects..
Casuals don’t give a shit about a few ms of lag. Can’t imagine causals will want to game that way because of the lag. Just imagine playing games like Fortnite or Halo infinite through streaming.
