Was listening to the OST a while ago, great game. Fantastic musoc and world, loved the battle system, but unfortunately battles themselves were too easy.

Definitely in my top 10 games of all time.

A JRPG masterpiece. December 4th can't arrive soon enough, I need to play its successor!

mechonis field is my favorite music from the game. easy. hands down. and this game had some great music.

i wasn't expecting to enjoy this game like everyone else did. i was just thoroughly and constantly amazed at just how much effort went into every facet. unexpectedly huge in so many ways.

my main issue with xenoblade was that it looked like hot garbage, super sad we didn't get a gorgeous looking wii u port instead of a gross looking 3ds port

but i had a very very good time with it, soundtrack and the world were both captivating, and it did away with a lot of minor annoyances that jrpgs had trained me to just accept

Just beat the game today and have to say its clearly one of the best examples of how you can marry storytelling and gameplay to make something unique, than only videogames can tells. Its a very inspired game and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Played throught the 3DS version without ever touching the Wii version and the game feels huge, the characters feels real, and the world feels alive.

I dunno about the characters feeling real, but that one girl's boobs jiggle in the menus. I imagine that's how it would be in real life.

Really enjoyed it. Not as much as Xenogears or Xenosaga Episode 3, but Monolith makes great RPGs and this is definitely no exception. One of the best games on the wii easily.

I wish I could have liked it. I tried for about 12 hours, but I just couldn't enjoy it after having just played The Last Story which was so much better.

Xenoblade is significantly better than TLS.

Also, 12 hours? You barely scratched the surface. Xenoblade is an 80 hour game for the main story alone. Did you even get to Gaur Plain?

59 hours in and I'm pretty close (I think) to finishing the game on the new 3DS (played the Wii version before, but I dropped it around 20h in because I had to do other stuff), and I'm really enjoying it so far. The dialogue gets a bit weak at times but the overall story is engaging, and I've had a blast with some of the sidequests (the spider boss comes to mind; minor spoiler in that GIF).

The soundtrack is god-tier, every time Engage The Enemy fires up during a cutscene, I get all pumped up; and You Will Know Our Names is so perfectly tuned to combat that often I manage to charge up the combo attack and launch it exactly when the guitar solo comes in.

I imported this title, and I remember walking to the damn mailbox every day for like two weeks waiting for it to show up. It got lost in the mail come to find out x.x

When I first heard about this game I looked at a video of the opening and my first thoughts were: Damn this is ugly. The combat doesn't really look like my kinda thing, either. I even watched a video on youtube of one of the final encounters out of random curiosity (thankfully it was in japanese so I didn't retain much information).

Months later I decided to try it and it's one of my favorites of all time. Game is gorgeous, music is unbelievable, and the gameplay hooked me. I even did nearly all the sidequests everybody hates so much lol. It was just such an interesting setting, I wanted to explore every little element. Finished up at 150 hours and that ending did not disappoint.

Certainly a game that does so many things right. Graphics, artstyle and soundtrack are amazing. Monster design and character design is very diversified. It really feels like you are living on a giant robot.

Combat is quite stiff but once you get used to the more tactical elements i think it is a good system. There is a need to grind a lot though.

Regarding the exploring I love the instant warping once you find a checkpoint. I love the fact that exploring the map alone gives you substantial exp. i love the sidequests (especially the fac that you dont need togo back to a quest giver to get rewards.) i love the colony 9side side story.

The game has some weaknesss but overall the pros outshine the cons.
great soundtrack
nice story
crappy game

Care to elaborate?

Bought a Wii just for this game (and ended up selling it without using it because I bought a Wii U by the time I got around to playing Xenoblade).

+ Liked most of the music
+ Liked most of the environments
- Didn't like most of the characters
- Thought the story/plot was an immense downgrade from gears/saga
- Greatly disliked the combat (some very poorly designed aspects resulted in possible stalemates)

Overall was pretty disappointed with the game but I can see why others may hold it in high regards.
Still plan to give Xenoblade X a fair shake of course.

I am still playing through this game, and I absolutely loved it. The scope of the world is amazing. I love the characters, and plot so far. The gameplay is fun, and I really like the battle system.

Despite my one issue with it is that there is lot of sidequests that are totally unnecessary. I focusing more on grinding my characters, and following the story now.

I am about 40 hours in..

I wish I could say I adored this game, because then there'd have been a single JRPG last gen I could say that about. And it was definitely in the best shape to floor me.

Alas, I'm not keen on a lot of things about it. But it's decent.

One of my favorite games of all time. Loved almost everything about it. Interesting story, charming characters, engaging combat, a beautiful world that invites you to explore it, convenient systems like being able to change the time of day and quicktravel anywhere, an amazing soundtrack, and all that keeps going for like 80 hours and that's without the optional sidequests, which are admittedly not the strongest suit of the game (though I didn't mind them too much, as many of them auto complete). It really is a complete package. My first run through this game was nothing short of magical.
I'm also really happy that this game got a little more exposure with Shulk making it into Smash (thanks Sakurai) and the n3DS rerelease.

I need to replay this one of these days. Definetely the best rpg of its generation.

I experienced some really, really cool moments with the combat+music+random field bosses, like chaining two boss encounters, almost dying, the music being epic as all shit. Daaaaaamn what a game

my main issue with xenoblade was that it looked like hot garbage,

Weird. I consider it one of the most beautiful games ever made. Of course didn't look as good as the downsampled Dolphin version on my TV but not a bazllion jaggies could hide its great art design from my eyes. Entering that knee/leg area for the first time was crazy, so, so crazy.

I loved the
Nopan Village. I am playing this still, and the game has some gorgeous parts to it. Nopan Village especially was beautiful. Right now I am at Melia's home city at the Eryth Sea. I am highly impressed with this game so far..

Playing it for the first time on new 3ds. I'm really enjoying it, it's not a perfect game and the combat is a little dull, but the overall world and story make it a really enthralling experience.

I've just
killed Xord and on my way to Bionis Waist
so am probably under half way through, so interested to see how the game progresses.

Completed Xenoblade Chronicles multiple times. And each time took hundreds of hours. A true masterpiece in my collection.

I’m Really Feeling It!

Great game and its the best RPG of last generation. I can safely say that and I'm just 30 hours in. Which is really a shame.
and holy shit at 5 years

So whats the deal with this game, is it owned by Monolith or Nintendo? The Wikipedia page says both developed it.

nintendo owns monolithsoft.

Check out this cute post by the singer that sang the ending theme, which also happened to be her debut song.

It's a really beautiful game with such a detailed and well-crafted world. More than anything, it's the exploring that I remember so well. The giant scope of the game (without boring filler fields) was something I hadn't experienced before. It also had a great story with twists I did not see coming. I don't often get into a jRPG, as a matter of fact I sometimes get that look when I say I didn't enjoy certain popular titles, but Xenoblade was one that I loved from beginning to end. Great game.

Agree with everything, even the song choice. Game blew me away.

i started the game on 3DS but stopped playing more than a month ago after putting 18 hours in.

i just don't understand the combat. even if i'm above the enemy's levels, i get destroyed.

I am amazed on how time flies fast, as I remembered more than five years ago of first learning about Xenoblade on Andriasang.com (which since has been shut down).
