Xenogears Remake...would you like that?

i would like to see a remake only if they would use HD sprites for the characters. add a few new deathblows, some new gears or upgrades, and a new dungeon or two and call it a day.

One of the Great RPGs of its time. FFVII kind drowned it out though.
Aren't you on PS3 forums as well? I swear I always think your name is LiquidFart at first glance. Well, nice to see you here anyway.

a) People liked Legend of Dragoon? Oooookay.

b) Second disc with actual gameplay = yes please.

c) Never gonna happen. :'(

I would love a remake on either the DS or PSP. I'm afraid an actual console release would turn into Xenosaga though.

I'd much rather have a Legend of Dragoon remake, but that's just me.

I would love this. Maybe a sequel?

So you guys want Xenosaga VI eh? Or whatever the hell stupid number Xenogears was supposed to be.

The fact is, saga was going to be the series, and it would have gotten to Xenogears eventually. But people didn't like it, and it ended at three.

Would need a lot of work.

-Disc 2 into the trash bin. Either axe the whole disc 2 story and come up with something new to fill the gap, or draw from bits of it here and there. It's far too incoherent to use as-is, even with gameplay dropped in there.

-Mech combat as it stands into the trash bin.

-Either reduce the encounter rate or make the dungeons smaller.

-New translation from scratch.

Do that along with the normal remake aspects and I could maybe see it.

I think I replay this game about every 3-4 years, and with each replay I get further and further; however, I've never actually finished the game. Maybe a remake would give me the motivation to finish...

Actually, this is a habit I exhibit in almost all the JRPGs I play. I get right to the very end, and find myself with no motivation to actually finish the game. Maybe it's because JRPGs tend to lose momentum at the end? I know Xenogears was certainly plagued by this.

I would definitely like a new translation that didnt periodically degenerate to garbled engrish. The dungeon and other missing content on the second disk would be nice as well.

Otherwise I think XG is fine.

I would be alright with the first disk staying the same and a whole new 2nd disk experience (besides, you know, the non gameplay). Create High Res sprites or something and retain the same artstyle.

I agree. I only got through the second disk by pressing A until I would fall asleep, then waking up and continuing to press A, only to fall asleep once again. Finally, I could control my character again, only to find that the whole world has changed and I was left with no clue what's going on or where to go!

Being a massive Xenogears fan (it's my #1 all-time fav game), I never really understood the complaints about the translation. And throwing out the 2nd disc totally is a definite NO-NO. :p
