I'm thinking they weren't quite ready for the launch.
I've noticed more and more stuff showing up throughout the day.

shagg_187 said:That's why there is 30 days trial. It takes time for the service to be up and running.
Hopefully by next week they will start rolling out movies as they are released.DoctorWho said:I've noticed more and more stuff showing up throughout the day.

I don't think so. I see a few using Netflix and it shows up as "Netflix Streaming Service", unless they are not really watching anything. I'll look up on it more.pharmboy044 said:Does the current movie being watched show up under your PSN name in your friends list?
lol...nothing wrong with watching hot cheerleaders, especially the one's in that movie.DoctorWho said:You mean people might know that I'm watching Ninja Cheerleaders?

Shit sucks for real. I don't use netflix but it is still suck. I didn't have to keep on taking the disc (my brother in law account) to put my Sport Champions discKillthee said::lol Sucks.
Animator said:I love it. Clearly it doesnt have everything from day one but even today they added a shitload of movies throuyghout the day. For $8 a month I am definitely getting it.
Animator said:By the way does anybody know what the size of average HD movie\tv show on netflix? I am curious how much bandwidth I will end up using.
Netflix streams HD content using Microsoft VC1AP encoding at a bitrate of between 2600kbps and 3800kbps.
shagg_187 said:Yeah the content is fucking shitty. Horror genre is full of shit.
Lots of people are misinformed because they go by the bitrate info shown by the XMB on the disc version of Netflix. They don't realize that XMB bitrate counter shows buffering too which is what drove the reading to peaks of 6Mbit/s.Zombie James said:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netflix#Streaming
That's ~2.23 - 3.26GB for a two hour movie. That's actually less than what I thought, I was under the impression their HD streams were 6Mbit/s.

nolookjones said:anyone have a workaround to get the app installed on 3.41? im in canada btw...
which firmware does the app require anyways?
Q:What version of PS3 firmware do I need to watch instantly, and how do I update my PS3 firmware?
A:You need firmware revision 2.76 or later. Instructions for updating your PS3 firmware can be found on the PLAYSTATION\®3 website.

It supposedly requires 3.42. Not sure if it has an SFO that can be modified to look for 3.41 instead of 3.42 or if the app requires you to log into PSN when you launch it.Dunlop said:This is what sent me into my previous tizzy, but for all I know that is just a copy paste from the American site so 3.5 might be needed

I'm not sure if pkg's install SFO's, but if it does, have you tried editing it?nolookjones said:hey nice find..thats actually my post and i can confirm yes it installs fine but asks for 3.42 upon boot...does anyone know how to modify a .pkg to require a lower firmware (is it like version.txt on psp?)
Distribution rights. The people who hold the distribution rights for content in the U.S. aren't necessarily the same people who hold the rights in Canada and the rest of the world. Netflix has to make new agreements with the rights holders in Canada for the same content they already have streaming rights for in the U.S.. It goes both ways too, they have Mad Men available for streaming in Canada, but not in the U.S..(._.) said:I was noticing a decent amount of negative comments towards Netflix streaming itt, but then I realized people were talking about only Canada's streaming library. Why would Canada not get the exact same library that the US has from day one? We have so much quality stuff to stream.

Use the FTP app to transfer the file to your PC. If all pkg's include the file (I'm not sure if they do), it should be under the Netflix install folder and it should be named PARM.SFO.nolookjones said:no ftp support for this app yet so it wont work...
diff countries so seperate licensing deals have to be made...

That I don't know :lolnolookjones said:which directory does it install netflix too?

My best guess is that it's somewhere under /dev_hdd0/game/NPUP00030 but I'm probably wrong.
Upload the file to MediaFire and send me a link. I'll give it a shot under Linux and send you a link to the modded file if I'm able to edit itnolookjones said:hey good guess your right! but it crashes ps3sfoedit .80 seems like the windows version doesnt support changing firmware required

SupaNaab said:The selection is disappointing because I've heard so many websites and communities claim Netflix would replace the Blockbusters of the world. I've heard numerous stories about the Netflix selection and their algorithms for finding films just for you. I finally get to try it out and I think there ends up being only 250 films (not counting TV Shows) in the PS Netflix library. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the movies that did make the "cut", but I felt overall I was missing out on the real thing. Are there specific dates when Netflix adds new arrivals? I know that Tuesday is the primary release date for most stores does that coincide with Netflix?
Sorry I took so long, the dependencies were bigger than I expected and I'm on a really slow connection right now. Tell me if the file I sent you works, I might have mixed up the file with another one I got :lolnolookjones said:pm'ed you
