Are app load times really that fast?!
Bad Art™ They're stylistically repulsive to me.Why do people hate avatars?
It's pretty good actually.
Why are they still doing these things, nothing uses them...
Try to recall how fast the UI was when they showed it off prior too launch.
"See how fast that was"
Yeah, will wait till I'm using it before i get excited.
Indeed, but in its current state it is completely useless for streaming apps such as Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. Netflix isn't supported at all yet, and the current app channels are almost all completely terrible. Unless you have a live TV service or actively rent movies on a regular basis the One Guide is a complete waste of space on the UI.The new OneGuide is a huge improvement over the old one in speed and usability.
Didn't the X1 already have avatars? Why is this new?
Why.... They literally do nothing. Man, the fans sometimes are so dense.
How are they dense for wanting something back they liked? Ultimately it doesn't matter in the end but for some users they like having a personal avatar they can customize.
They are now visible on your profile page and show up while comparing achievements with friends.Didn't the X1 already have avatars? Why is this new?

Some site done a test to look at the response and quickness of the Xbox One on the new dashboard and the PS4

EDIT: How do I embed YouTube videos on here?
But one of the most wanted features? Im sure there a lot more important stuff than Avatars that do nothing.
I wish I could opt out on avatars. They were an attempt to cash in on something the Wii made popular and they never seemed like a good fit on the Xbox 360.
To be honest I didn't even realize they put them back in and I've been on the new dash for weeks.
The UI still looks a complete mess but there seems to be faster now.
Don't know but I say I could care less about them. I buy systems to play games and could care less about an avatar.
Got to keep Rare busy.
Are avatars even activated by default ? What happens if you never create your own ?
This doesn't show the dashboard at all?
Why do people come into threads about thing and say they don't care about thing?
Anyways, Avatars are good because it gets us just a little bit closer to 1 vs. 100 'bone edition

Bring back Avatars, front and center! @XboxQwik I prob, one of the few that like avatars and changing outfits & stuff.
Some people will moan about literally anything.
Bringing back Avatars has almost ZERO negative impact on anyone's experience with the Xbox One.
I wonder why he didn't measure time to play from CD. Is X1 still takes forever to install games?!
I don't like Avatars.
I got it when they introduced them back in 2008 as a way to combat the insanely popular Miis, but they have no place in 2016.
The time to install from disc on the Xbox I courageously slow. I remember tweeting Phil about it a year ago and he said they were looking to improve it . . . zilch.
If they weren't able to fix it with the new update, I'm afraid its hardware problem just like party chat on PS3.
Hardware? Then how much faster is the ps4 drive cause it takes me minutes to install a game on there.

I really wish there was an option to completely remove One Guide from the UI. I would absolutely use it if they ever provide meaningful app channels, but until then its only purpose is to make you hit the bumper one more time to get to the store.
Didn't they say at E3 that the 360 will also get a visual update? What happened to that? Or am I imagining stuff..![]()
People wanted them. I don't care about avatars much either but I don't see any flaws in adding the feature.
I hate avatars and really wish Microsoft didn't bring them back.
How much less could you care?
