Yakuza 3 | Official Thre

picked it up today played it for a few hours and I love it. The golf game I sucked at but everything else has been great. Never get tired of the combat and Kiryu's radness.

I don't really give a shit about the cuts and they seem really minuscule in the grand scheme of yakuza 3.

My gamestop got 3 copies, 1 was mine and another for pre order. I think the last one is getting gutted.

I've been doing it at the start of the game and nothing happens, well apart from her holding your hand.

Finally caught my Tuna:lol

To catch a Tuna fish go to the Public Market and buy some Shrimp Bait. The Tuna fish are usually located at the 150m mark so equip your Shrimp bait and cast away.

Just earned 300,000 Yen by catching one:D

This game is killing me. Over 14 hours and I still haven't finished Chapter 4:lol
 
Are any of you guys actually playing this game or are you all still upset over the cut-content and $5 pre-order fiasco?

I've played about four hours since picking it up on Thursday. Its been a busy week, so I haven't been able to spend any more time with it than that. I love it though- too bad about the cuts but at the end of the day I don't think I really give a shit too much.

So is there any word when the DLC codes are going to start working? I tried this morning after the latest PSN Store update and the code still didn't work.

Probably tomorrow which is the official PAL release day. I've not tried mine after the UK store update, but I'll just wait till tomorrow now.
 
I've been so busy with work and still tired from my Japan trip.

I finally sat down and I fell asleep during the installation process. I woke up and it was too late to get some good game time in.

Got yakuza 2 today and i'm almost finished with yakuza 1. All set for yakuza 3 which I will pick up eventually, hoping that it doesn't disappear out of stores before then.

Best Buy just got their copies in today, the Burbank store got 8 in total. Hope no one is expecting anything from the sales numbers.
 
I got my copy in the mail a few hours ago. I had some work to do but I installed it and the extra DLC content already, so I'll be ready to play it when the time comes... once I finish Yakuza 2. :\ I was hoping I could finish it in time.

Don't recall much about the mangaka quest. Runaway phone chat girl. "Is she talking about me...?" was the transexual masseuse sidequest. Now this is honestly weird, they're seriously cutting out a lot of sidequests as this list keeps up.

Can't wait to play this but all the cuts are just fucking sick. I was mad about Just The Hostess bars but now all this? Mahjong Shogi Massages, a bunch of quests from chapters 4 and 5, WHERE WILL IT END

Sorry we cut the name Yakuza cause English speakers won't understand it the game is now just called Gang 3
 
I really haven't been paying attention to the squabbles over the cut side missions but now I'm at a cross roads. I'm done Chapter 4 and just need to
take the plane to Tokyo
and I've just spent the last 2 hours making sure that I didn't miss any side missions but I'm only up to 23 out of 23 complete.

I checked some Japanese Ver. faqs and there should be 40 missions in total for the chapter but I'm not sure if that includes Main and Side story. I really want to get that Side Story Complete trophy and really don't want to go through another amount of ungodly hours to get it.

Sigh. Anyone?

Like Segata mentioned earlier, you can expect more cuts to be revealed for later chapters as people play through the game. Someone's making a cut content list for Chapter 6 right now.

This is starting to worry me as a lot of these missions are multi-part.

Anyways it would be very Sega if there were only 79 side-missions and you need 80+ for 2 trophies:lol

You realize that by buying it, you're justifying SEGA treating the North American Yakuza fanbase like a bunch of fools that will buy anything they throw out there with the Yakuza name on it, right? They are fucking you with a pineapple and you are taking it with a smile. If that's your thing, fine, but don't start hucking rocks at the people who don't feel like paying for a shitty rush/hackjob out of some intangible threat of further releases being withheld.

So, five more from Chapter 5. One continues from a previous cut mission, another is the AnswerXAnswer mission, one is from the massage parlour, but the manga-ka stuff is unrelated to previously known cuts. Christ, they've cut about 25-30% of the optional content thus far. Some of this stuff is text-lite, continues stories from previous games (which will certainly be continued in RGG4), has no objectionable content to speak of, and are fun, interesting missions that help build the character the series is known and loved for. I'd love to see the complete reasoning behind what they did and didn't localize, because I'm frankly baffled at this point.
 
BTW, Yakuza 4 demo is up on the Japanese marketplace. Plays and looks VERY similar to Yakuza 3, but with new lead character. Also, if you download, you may get Yakuza 3 spoilers.

Right now, I'm playing the claw machine in Club Sega. You can win a plush AiAi, a fat chick, or one of 3 different Karaoke cats.
 
So what is this, nearly a quarter of the game cut?

It's pretty sickening that it's this much. At first I didn't mind, but this goes beyond the realm of forgiveness - I will now be importing an Asian version of the 'original' instead. I'm sure the comprehensive GameFAQs will have me covered.

There's 4 playable characters, and Yauzka 3 spoilers aren't apparent unless you know your Japanese.

ThePatrick has been writing Ryu ga Gotoku guides since the first. He has very in depth and comprehensive guides.

And they did such an excellent job with the Yakuza 2 localization, a PS2 game released in 2008.
 
Just what the fuck happened here Sega? Someone should be fucking fired over this. Hope someone posts the 'Western Team' Credits Roll info soon enough so we can have a name for our mob to hunt down and burn til theres nothing left to burn.

I definitely buy into the conspiracy that Sega has done this to kill the franchise in the west forever, but that makes NO FUCKING SENSE AT ALL, but thus: Sega. How they can not look at companies like Atlus with their utterly fucking devoted following and not understand how or why thats occurred is beyond me. Management is clearly just as shit as it was at it's worst in the 90's and 00's. The whole western branch honestly needs nuking and starting from scratch or just have other companies publish their games over-seas.

That's what really baffles me at this point. Yakuza 2 was literally perfect for most people, except that it was sub only. But everything made it over intact...

Yea. they want to kill the franchise. That's why they bothered to bring it over. Don't be stupid. If they wanted to kill it, they wouldn't bring it out at all. As it is, there's TONS of content in this game that will keep me bus for a long time. I'm 5 hours in and barely past chapter 3.

If it hadn't been reported, I wouldn't have known anything was missing. The game is still super long.

I'm not paying full price for compromised shit. Yakuza 2 was 100% intact and that was a $30 PS2 game released amidst Madden.
