I went to buy some steak to make tacos right but I found some thin ass shit that would shrink into a fucking bite sized ass shit for like $7 so instead I picked up a load of ground beef 80 lean for about $5

Thing is

Would it make decent tacos? I need tips from taco gaf on how to handle this beef

Are you truly ready to go from making salads to tacos all of a sudden though?

It's fairly easy.

Cook the ground beef, and add a seasoning packet.

Yes? Ground beef is great for tacos.

I mean, I prefer beans (black beans or refried beans) in my tacos/burritos, but still. Ground beef is great. Throw in some taco seasoning packet if you're feeling lazy and you're good to go.

Just don't make a salad out of it and you'll be okay.
Ground beef is fine for tacos.

If you want a taco type seasoning, chili powder and cumin are the most important, and then you can add garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper to taste.

Making your own taco seasoning isn't hard:

1 Tbsp. Chili Powder
1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp. Onion Powder
1/4 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 tsp. Dried Oregano
1/2 tsp. Paprika
1 1/2 tsp. Ground Cumin
1 tsp. Sea Salt
1 tsp. Black Pepper (optional)

Was gonna say, I thought everyone used ground beef lol
.

God no, usually make carnitas, steak, chicken, etc before I make ground beef tacos.

I don't have garlic/onion powder but I have the actual things

I would consider frying those corn tortillas and making them into shells:

Same recipe i use for seasoning though i cut the cumin down to 1/2 tsp and black pepper and salt to 1/4 tsp. Make enough for 2-3 tbsp per pund of beef and use about 1/2 cup water per pound.

He can't even fight off his Standards and Practices people, why would I believe his recipes?! :p

Real talk, if you haven't tried it you won't believe how good they are. Don't even need anything with them.

Whip up a simple guac and some cerveza, and it's heaven.

I personally prefer hard shell tacos with packet-seasoned ground beef to authentic taqueria tacos. Assuming one has a bottle or two of Pico Pica handy, of course.

nothing brings out privileged ass snobs than food threads

nothing

Dude, the price of ground beef per pound is the same as chicken, it is hardly snobbery.

And really, ground beef tacos were the de facto "taco" in America for decades.
