this will never not make me laugh

How can real be mirrors if our eyes are OP? is kinda more the vibe i'm getting here.

Fuck it, if I am already dead I might commit all of the crimes. And blame it on OP's new found teachings.

See, if you truely do that, you didn't make a choice, it is just how your life is supposed to turn out...and in time will became the past. free will is illusion

What you're saying doesn't negate us having say over events as they pass from the future to the past. "Free will is an illusion" means nothing. There's no substance to that.

But what I'm saying is the "future" is a construct we created to understand something that has not occurred yet in our lives. The "past" being something that already happened. Yes, we are only living in a linear plane that could be interpreted as our "present," but that directly contradicts that everything that has yet to happen has already happened. If it's passing linearly, then we are not yet at the point in the line where a "future" event has occurred. When we pass that point, and ONLY when we pass that point, that "future" becomes our "past."

Right. I get what you are saying now.
However, because our time only goes in 1 direction, and relatively speaking, the same speed constantly (to our experience anyway ), all the future will become the past, so aren't we also living in the past in a sense?

No, because it only becomes the "past" once we cross that point in a linear point in time. At some point in our lives, we will refer to it as the "past," but that does not make it the past in our present time.

Actually what I mean by no free will is that our decision making is influence by a number of things. Our chemical make up, our life experience, the environment, etc etc.

We think we make meaningful choices in life but maybe we were and are going to make the same choices regardless.

Think of it, the moment we were conceived, our DNA and chemical make up is already influencing how we develop and act...and as we go through life all these things make up who we are and who we are , we will always make the same choices anyway, right? So is there free will?

No more than you are living 5 feet behind where you actually are when walking down the street.

No, because going off how we experience time, the past consists only of what you have already experienced, not what you will experience. If we always were in the past, you would currently still be a baby/child/younger adult. Are you currently living the baby life? If not, you're living the present, not the past. Time is constantly embracing you, you aren't coasting in its aftermath.

So basically

Right now you are living a life that started during the moments of death in your last life

When you die in this life, you go into a dream state and start a new life

When you die in that life, you go into a dream state and start a new life

When you die in that life, you go into a dream state and start a new life

It's like that film with that guy where they went deeper and deeper and deeper

Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, external (and, in this case, internal) factors can definitely influence our decisions. I don't know if they can outright force us to make certain choices, though, and whether that negates free will. That is honestly one of those things that you're better off not even thinking about, because there is no way to know what factors influence what decisions and whether you were mentally able to make a different one at the time.

You're looking at time like a full table where past present and future is right in front of you. Everything has happened because you're viewing it all as simultaneously happening. Time is a man made construct--animals do not observe time as we do instead only through instinctual behavior do they follow our motions similarly

If you listen to gaming side, the illusion of choice is all the choice you need

I'm not sure if that relates to the topic at hand but there you go

Co-eds Gone Crazy part 7?

I get what you're saying and honestly, I use this mode of thought sometimes to get over the anxiety of dealing with something. For example, I have a huge paper due for one of my master's classes when I start work again so anxiety starts to build. I then think of it in terms of, "Well Omadahl at the point when this is due already has this finished because that's the kind of person I am... well either that or he's dead or incapacitated." Framing the problem and fixing it with high percentage outcomes helps me get past the anxiety and work towards what I assume will be the most likely scenario. Also, we're all dead at some point so don't worry about it.

What is now? Besides the present.. which is now the past but also the future since now is now now not then when I said now before... thats the past. Like.. how do we know now is now and not right now?

we need to figure out how to stop time
Einstein was right. Time is relative to the observer. When you're looking down the barrel of a gun time slows down, your whole life flashes by, heartbreak and scars. Stay with it, and you can live a lifetime in that split second.
