Usually I will just rent movies, mostly on blu, but for the rare occasion that I actually buy one it's definitly always BD. This be my tiny collection, and I could actually part with some of these. Like why the hell did I get RE: Extinction...

Looks like you spend a lot of time in the Fry's sale section. :lol I think everything in the section from Blade Runner to Kingdom of Heaven has been $10 or less in recent months, as has RE: Extinction and probably Silent Hill. Don't know about the others.
Silent Hill was a great film. The Blu-Ray transfer wasn't brilliant but it was better than I was led to believe on here.
Visually and audibly it nails the look and feel of the series. Yeah, the plot is a bit different, but so what? Who played Silent Hill for the plot? No-one. You bought the game for the sights and sounds. Not cause there was this cult that tried to ressurect a god in it.
I used to buy Blurays, but now I get them through Netflix. However, i rented the Time Travelers Wife on Bluray to watch with my wife, and I was ticked off that it didn't have any special features (I especially love deleted scenes). It see that "rental" was written on the actually disc. I think it's the new scheme to get people to actually buy them to get the bonus features in additional to the 30 day delay window.
Anyway, It's hard to go back to standard dvd after seeing bluray. The quality difference is really apparent. I will only watch dvd if I have to. The same for tv, if there is an HD version, I'm watching that instead. I've been spoiled
I do notice that some people don't have there cable connections set up correctly so they won't discover the difference.
