NeoGAF Cracked DS Lites:

Shit! Mine is about to crack, I can see half of the cracked lines forming and I just got my ds lite a week ago. Good thing is that it's hardly noticable.

I swear to God, Nintendo actually makes a cool looking piece of hardware and all I see on GAF is threads about defective DS Lites. Does this mean that the Wii is going to be a piece of shit?

Man, not only did you leave the door open but you setout a fresh welcome mat and a sign for free beer and money.

my black one has 2 lines on it at the crack point that look like they are there as part of the manufacturing process, not cracks though.

Does it affect opening and closing?

My DS has cracked just like that. It happens whenever you push the top screen back too far, or whenever you carry your DS lite about in a backpack in Portugal for 2 weeks.

Not sure how it happened, but it's damaged just like that pic. Not worried too worried tho.

From what i see, this isn't so much a crack as a seam that's come apart. I do see there's a seam on mine right where the crack is on affected DSLs. Don't freak out, a very tiny dab of superglue should fix it, right?

Luckily mine doesn't has this (yet). What I'm more bugged about is the fact that filth can gather under the plastic of the bottom part. No way to remove that unless you open it I guess.

Hey, I was wondering if they already fixed it? Because like a previous poster, mine has a horizontal manufacturing line as well (running parallel with the standard horzontal line). However, on the pictures, I don't see a line at all (like it's a full hing, like ?).

Uh oh...

The ratio in this thread is NOT good...

For the record, I don't have a Lite, just the regular one, so I'm not included in the ratio...

There is definitely a seam or something there. I can see a slight line even on my new one.

It's not even anything to freak out about, this is more absurd than the whole "my screen has a yellow tint" -- nitpick much? Right up there with freaking out that the restaurant put pickles on your burger...

Nothing here. I can see the seam where the plastic was joined, but on both hinges, the seam lies lower than the crack shown here.
