Your favorite Batman villain

He/She can be from the comics, the animated series, Burtonverse, Nolanverse, etc - you pick.

My pick:

Clayface

Batman: The Animated Series featured a version of Clayface (voiced by Golden Globe winner Ron Perlman) that combined aspects of several of the first two Clayfaces. In the episode "Feat of Clay" (written by veteran comic book writer Marv Wolfman), he is introduced as Matt Hagen, a past-his-prime actor disfigured in a horrible car accident. While recovering in a burn clinic, he is approached by corrupt businessman Roland Daggett, who makes him a test subject for a compound called "RenuYou" that he promises will immediately restore his youthful good looks. In exchange, Hagen must use the chemical to commit crimes for Daggett. He tries to resist, but is forced to comply as the RenuYou chemical is extremely addictive. After Hagen botches an attack on Lucius Fox while disguised as Bruce Wayne, Roland Daggett cuts his supply off. Hagen attempts to steal a large quantity of RenuYou from Daggett's compound, but is caught and Daggett's men pour an entire canister of the compound down his throat and leave him for dead. Rather than kill him, the overdose saturates every cell in his body, turning him into a bulky and misshapen clay-like form. For short periods of time, he can shapeshift into anything or anybody he wishes.

It's tough to pick a favorite but it's him for me. The animated series take on Clayface is the only one I know. As a kid, this character really had an effect on me. This scene in particular. I really love the majority of the villains in the Batman universe. Almost every single one of them have a quality where I pity and feel sorry for them. Alright, you guys go.

Professor Pyg followed closely by Professor Carl Kruger, Professor Milo, Professor Radium and Rainbow Beast.

Ra's Al Ghul easily. Why?

He knows Batman/Bruce Wayne as intimately as he knows himself. All Batman's other villains simply know him as The Batman. Ra's doesn't hate him, but they have a serious difference in opinion.

Plus the whole secret society, inner workings of the universe angle is cool as hell.

Both in the comics and the Nolan version.

Dude freakin' rocks.

Also this.

Joker is the obvious answer.

Runner up would have to be Mr. Freeze. Probably the first on a short list of villains I rooted for.

Plus his daughter loving Bruce and having his child adds another dynamic to their interactions.

Animated Clock King.

Loved that guy and the way he could hold his own against Batman in a fight just by knowing how long it takes to throw a punch.

His origin episode (of his whopping two appearances in the original series...) was just plain sad, easy to relate why he went nuts when Hill's advice ruined his life.

EDIT: Actually, thinking back the BTAS really went out of their way to make EVERY villain origin story they showed on screen to be pretty tragic. 'Cept maybe Scarecrow.

I think it pretty much comes down to what's your favorite psychological disorder.

My favorite one is:

The Ventriloquist/Scarface. Their relationship is fascinating, someone who's so subservient to their other personality and has less control than the puppet that he's controlling.

I always thought Batman Live Actions Movies would be loads darker if they just included the Mad Hatter as some sick pedophile who kidnaps little girls.
