Love Two-Face's for a number of reasons but especially his relationship to both Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson and what he reveals about each character. Despite all the shit Harvey does, Bruce is still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and rather have Harvey rehabilitated and still believes it's possible. Dick, who's supposed to be more optimistic, just thinks he's an utter monster.

Two Face's origin story in BTAS is one of the best episodes with some pretty chilling music and I actually really enjoyed Aaron Eckhart's portrayal.

Although I actually prefer most of Bruces's villains to be closer to anti-villains. Like Poison Ivy when she took care of orphans during No Man's Land or Riddler when he decided to become a private investigator.

I laughed.

Cliche answer, but Mark Hamill's Joker. Perfect voice, perfect laugh, perfect portrayal.

Yep. Always amazing, but Return of the Joker cemented him as the best now and till the end of time.

"What's the matter, Batman? No witty comeback? No threats? Then I'll provide the narration.

"Let's begin with how I peeled back the layers of the boy's mind. Oh, he bravely tried to fight it at first. You would've been proud to see him so strong.

"But all too soon, the serums and the shocks took their toll, and the lad began to share such secrets with me . . .

"Secrets that are mine alone to know, Bruce.

"It's true, Batsy! I know everything. And kinda like the kid who peeks at his Christmas presents, I must admit, it's sadly anticlimactic. Behind all the sturm and batarangs, you're just a little boy in a play suit crying for Mommy and Daddy!

It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic!

"What the heck, I'll laugh anyway! AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA...."

Runner up would have to be Mr. Freeze. Probably the first on a short list of villains I rooted for.

So good.

Think of it, Batman. To never again walk on a summer's day with the hot wind in your face and a warm hand to hold. Oh yes, I'd kill for that!

From the films its Two-Face, without a doubt his transformation and fall is the most elegant things in Dark Knight.

From the games, its Mr. Freeze

From the animated show, Joker cuz duh

This version was soooo much better than the one in Arkham City.

It was so incredibly jarring to be playing Arkham City, get to Ra's al Ghul and not hear David Warner's voice.

Pretty much my favorite Batman villains would be most of the ones from The Animated Series: Ra's al Ghul, The Joker, Clayface and Mr. Freeze being the stand outs.

Why is this such a hard question? If I HAD to pick, I think I'd go with Ra's, Joker, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and Mad Hatter, in no particular order.

I always thought Batman Live Actions Movies would be loads darker if they just included the Mad Hatter as some sick pedophile who kidnaps little girls.

Also this. His interview tapes in AC stood out as the most chilling part of that game.

I think Joker is the best villian in all of comics, movie, and TV.

And Harley Quinn is the best sidekick.

The Riddler has always been a favorite of mine. He's been portrayed in a variety of ways from suave and sophisticated to pure lunatic bent on stealing your brain power. I love all of them equally really.

Harley Quinn from TAS all the way. She's crazier than the Joker and totally subverts the blonde bimbo stereotype. She had her own title several years back, lasted around 40 issues, and it was actually a pretty good run of stories.

Mr. Freeze also for his backstory.

Hush was cool in the beginning but he fell off hard.

Don't see the hype around Joker. He does crazy things, but nothing spectacular (no spider man jokes)

Seconded.

Joker is the obvious answer.

Man, I'm listening to the Fatman on Batman podcast right now where Kevin Smith Interviews Dini and they talked about how Dini is who is responsible for that version of Mr. Freeze. He brought him from lower tier to godlike with the whole Nora and tragic villain angle.

and not really my favorites but something so terrifying about her and her brother:

Dini is a god.

Also, while they're not the best, I have to acknowledge the new 52's Talons/Court of Owls. First time in a long while where a long-running comic has introduced a new villain that kept me as invested as a classic villain.

For the regular cast, I enjoy Scarecrow and Riddler. For the secondary villain list, I like Black Mask and Red Hood.

Dini is a god.

You'll not get an argument out of me on that one. His 'verse was my main Batman 'verse and introduced me to his world. The best animated series ever and like Kevin Smith says in that same podcast, whenever I read a Batman comic book or graphic novel, Kevin Conroy is always the voice I hear. Also, it would be great to get an Dini and Timm version of The Long Halloween as one of DC's next animated movies.

I wasn't introduced through it, but the more times I watch that series all the way through the more it becomes my favorite interpretation.

Also gotta echo the Mr. Freeze sentiment.

Though I actually really enjoyed Ragdoll from The Batman.

Beware the court of owls, that watches all the time, ruling Gotham from a shadow perch, behind granite and lime. They watch you at your hearth, they watch you in your bed, speak not a whispered word of them or they'll send the talon for your head.

They were really great, even if I think the story went on a little long.

Solomon Grundy is my favorite antagonist of all time

Slaughters the Justice League without wrinkling his suit. And some of the better, more serious arc's for heroes usually involve him, but I don't know if you consider him a 'Batman villain'. He's more of a general DC villain. He works well with everyone.

and if we're talking from any 'Batman verse'
L6gHo.jpg

Blight's a better villain than the majority of Bruce's gallery.

Oh, jeez. Mark Hamill's Joker is the obvious one, but yeah, Ra's is another pretty good choice. Was pretty excited when he turned out to be the villain of Batman Begins, too.

As for spinoffs, I kinda liked that blue chick with the molecule-thin sword from Beyond (Curare, I think it was). I don't even remember any episodes with her clearly; I just remember thinking "wow, that's a badass sword". Although the best Beyond villain was still probably
TimDrake!
Joker, yet again, so...

The Condiment King

This episode confused me.
Okay, so I get that The Joker got the drop on The Mad Hatter, took his mind control devices and used them to brainwash the three judges of that one competition... but seeing him show up at the previous competition and actually try to do legit comedy - albeit without having registered beforehand... seemed so out-of-character! Getting revenge, milldy less so, but I have to agree with Batman; it was incredibly petty, even for The Joker. Then again, we're talking a villain who once stole a kid's report card, so it's not like we can't go lower.

I'm with you OP. I never read comics as a kid but I loved B: TAS and Clayface was my favorite. But Scarecrow was pretty awesome too.
